Actually very good. I was skeptical given some reviews but it was well packed and not damaged. It fitted perfectly over the back plate of the old MK2 meter box which was truly knackered by British weather. Notes for other users: 1. Essential to use gloves to install. Huge Thanks to some reviewers - I avoided fibreglass dust in my skin by using gloves. 2. Use some silicone grease spray to gently remove the plastic rivets. And the same again to reinstall. 3. Don’t wipe your face or eyes when touching it. Wash gloved hands first. (I used rubber mechanics gloves) 4. A hacksaw is fine if you need to create an opening for 5. Be gentle with it. It’s a little fragile until properly installed. 6. Use a soft hammer + silicone lube when reinstalling the plastic rivets if they need some persuasion. 7. Stand back and congratulate yourself that you saved a packet and didn’t need to call a gas safe engineer (cos it’s only the outer box cover yiure dealing with)

I have zero DIY skills at all and this could not have been easier to fit. My old gas meter box was falling apart and looked awful from when we bought our house. Ordered this and it fitted my old back plate so took all of 3 minutes to install myself the plastic rivets even fit perfectly. 10/10 recommend if I had known it was so easy would have ordered months ago

I installed a weatherproof socket inside to accommodate my charging unit for the car, stops prying eye's seeing the charging lights flashing. Just the job.

Great Gas Meter box to replace 20 year plus old one. Didn’t need to use the supplied back plate. Easy to install, just had to cut the bottom of the box slightly to fit around gas pipe. Would highly recommend this Gas Meter box.

The gas meter box was delivered with one of the door hinges missing. I had booked and paid a man to fit the box today so he fitted the box and I have had to spend £4.99 to order another hinge to replace the one that was missing from my order. When I looked into this it said I have to return the whole box which is a large item and inconvenient and would been more costly having to rebook the fitter.

Perfect fit to replace my old broken box. Went straight into my original back plate with no issues. Also comes with the key.

This looks fine externally. The instructions are written on a sticker within the door... not an easy place to refer to and the sticker won’t peel off without tearing. It says that you simply pull down on the bottom of the outside and then tilt to pull forward away from the top. This is not the case. There are reasonably sized plastic split pin type lugs holding the back to the front and it isn’t possible to separate the two simply by pulling.....certainly not without breaking the plastic. I found it necessary to slightly lift the tops of the lugs and then using a long screwdriver and a hammer to push them upwards some way....not entirely removed. After that is was possible to separate the front from the back without damaging them. Putting the cover back was then straightforward and finally I used a hammer to gently push back the holder lugs.
