Loving this hat! With its wide brim, it's the perfect protection for face and neck, and having the uv and sun factor is a real bonus. I've had skin cancer, so proper sun coverage is a real must for me. I like the under chin tie/toggle fastener so that when I'm bending down in the garden there's no risk of it falling off. Great fit (that can be adjusted) and great value too. So happy, I'm going to but another one in a different colour.

I bought this rather than a hat from a well known brand as I keep losing them! Firstly, it is quite a good looking hat. The hat fits very well - the drawstring means that it will fit most heads. It's airy and the wide brim provides great sun shade. It's light and packs down really easily and well. When I first opened the bag it didn't half stink of plastic. After two days airing it out it was usable, and a week on the smell has nearly gone. The inner band doesn't always sit perfectly first time, but there is a knack you can learn. Overall this is a good, affordable hat that performs very nearly as well as technical brands four times the price.

Good for keeping the sun off your face

This hat is great, I work outside In all weathers. It keeps my head, ears and face shaded in summer, while staying cool too. I’m able to wrap my long hair up and put in in the hat, keeping it out the way when working. In rain, the water does seep through the top and you get wet, however I can put a second waterproof hat or hard hat on top and it runs off effortlessly. Hard hats also fit on too quite easily, since I work with construction sometimes, it’s helpful. Very good buy.

I bought this hat as I wanted a wider-brimmed hat than the lightweight sun hat I was using, and wanted to try out a hat with a neck flap. It turns out (despite measuring beforehand) that the brim on this hat is only slightly wider in practice. It's a well-made hat, and thought has clearly gone into the design and manufacture. However, it seems to be the choice of materials that lets it down for me. I find that the mesh around the top of the hat does seem to offer a slight ventilation benefit, but the sweatband is much less breathable around the head than my previous hat. Hiking in warm weather I bent over to redo my shoe laces and the rim started dripping repeatedly onto the ground. I wondered where it was coming from as the hat looked dry on the outside. It was the sweatband. It seems to hold moisture rather than wicking it away. The brim itself seems to get its rigidity from some kind of foam, so maybe that contributes. Even without physical exertion, in warm weather I don't find this hat as nice to wear. It's not necessarily hotter feeling, but is just much sweatier. To be fair though, it is sold as a fishing hat and on a cool day by water it probably suits to keep the sun off. If you're looking for a sun hat for any physical activity, I'm not convinced this is the hat for the job.

I got this hat for a hiking trip in sunny Arizona, and it exceeded all expectations. It’s lightweight, breathable, and sturdy — perfect for long hikes under the blazing sun. It kept me well-protected from UV rays the entire time. Sure, it might not be the most stylish hat out there, and the look can be a bit funny due to the wide brim, but when you’re out in the heat, performance matters more, and this hat delivers!

Bought this for my husband and he is quite pleased with it. It’s comfortable and has a good wide brim. It arrived folded and it’s impossible the remove the crease- it’s not so noticeable when he’s wearing it.

Comfortable, lightweight and practical. I bought this hat thinking of camping trips but its easy folding and lightweight nature means I have promoted it to everyday use, esp when travelling in Sunny weather. - Easy to gently fold and put in a bag or backpack. The brim is wide enough to keep the sun off, but still allows clear viewing, and you don't risk overheating as you can with thicker hats. If you are concerned about possible sun burn or heat exposure, this is a hat to get. - The green is a lovely dark olive shade too, so it looks nice as well.

This hat has an impressive brim that keeps the sun well and truly off your face and head. It isn't as breathable as I would like and is prone to getting drenched with sweat. I would call it water resistant, it doesn't do a great job at surviving a rain shower for longer than around 10-15mins, after which it will get soaked and begin to seep through onto your head and drip on your face. I really LOVE this hat for my walks outside on sunny days, its does what I need it to do - keep me cool in the hot sun! The adjustable straps are a great feature, being able to adjust to your sized head, preventing it from flying away on windy days. In conjunction with my poncho, they both keep me dry (except for the seat build up!) when its raining outside. I recommend it for gardening, working outside, and walking outdoors in sunny weather :-)

Proved it was of good quality upon testing in hot sunny weather. Appearance wise it was great. It protects even the neck from sunburn due to larger size. Overall, there is value for money.
