Great little fan!
This is a fantastic fan! I bought this to use in my gazebo and was pleasantly surprised. I like the remote control and options to choose a speed. It's super quiet and puts out a really good airflow! It's perfect for us in the evening so we can sit on the deck. When hanging it from a hook, it does try to twist when you turn it on, but any fan with decent torque is going to do that unless its secured to a mounting surface. I've seen some complain about this... it's physics people, not the product's fault! Also, anyone claiming the blades fly out clearly must not be able to read or follow instructions. The instructions show which way to install the blades and to make sure they "click" into place so they are secure, otherwise "they may fly out during operation". Just pay attention, assemble it correctly and don't blame the product if you can't follow directions! Overall, I'm very impressed with this unit and hoping it lasts a long time. This is way better, and cheaper than other fans I have tried in the past (that also broke in a few weeks). Can't go wrong for the price.

Almost 2 years and still going
I’ve had this fan for 20 months now ! I was sure it wouldn’t last long for 35$ but maybe it could get through one brutal summer here in SW Florida . This fan has exceeded my expectations. I have this installed on my small 12x12 lanai. Cord was just long enough to have it installed in the center of the room . You can definitely feel a breeze and I’ve found myself using low quite a bit . It has 3 speed settings and they are noticeably different . It sure helps to move the air around. Ideally I think two fans in this space would be even better for air flow , but for now this gets the job done . I would buy again and hope they come out with a larger one ? Or one with a light ? Although I am completely satisfied with my purchase . Occasionally it does make some clatter when first turned on but seems to quiet itself down as it levels out and creates a small hum when even . It feels lightweight but that’s probably a good thing the way it’s meant to be hung . But Powerful despite so. This saves me space on my lanai by not having to use a floor fan .

Overpriced disposable fan
It would be nice if someone would manufacture a high-quality fan you can connect to a D/C battery. There's a market for it. Alas, this product isn't it. I was just in the middle of trying to set it up. It worked when I first used the A/C adapter and plugged it into an outlet. Then I tried it using the alligator clamps directly to a 12v D/C battery. Nothing. Tried another battery. Nothing. Tried yey another one. Nothing. Now it won't even work with the outlet. These are the old-fashioned Chinese factory work-station fans from 20 years ago, built cheaply and meant to be easily replaceable when they crap out. It's wasteful, and it doesn't work for us on the US side when the seller's profit margins are so high. In other words, we can't buy them for peanuts and toss them out whenever they quickly burn out. Mine burned out immediately. I was willing to give it a try. I guess I got lucky. Side note: The battery clamps are encased in an overly heavy duty rubber and not spaced far enough apart to connect to a standard deep-cycle battery. You'll have to cut into it. So what were they made for exactly?

Lasted 2 Months/UPDATE...
We didn't expect it to be as small as it was when we got it and we had high doubts of it actually putting out any wind. We were pleasantly surprised at how powerful it was, and living in AZ, we need to run it nonstop. I can only give a 2-star rating because while it was compact and blew out air like no tomorrow...1. The hanger causes a clicking noise on the hook it's hanging from (we had to dampen the annoying noise with a small bit of duct tape) because it really is that powerful and moves on the hook when the fan is spinning, a quick fix with the duct tape, and 2. *Most Importantly: It only lasted two months before it completely died on us. At first, we thought it was the batteries in the remote after someone had possibly turned it off. Changed the batteries and still nothing. It wanted to go, we could hear the motor grinding, it just wouldn't. The motor couldn't handle running it nonstop apparently. A really good buy for the price if you don't need it to run nonstop for months at a time. UPDATE: After leaving my review, the manufacturer immediately contacted me to make things right. I was sent a new fan at no charge and without having to return the broken one (which I am thankful for as I'd already thrown it away). The new one has me sleeping like a baby under nice cooling air. The fan works as advertised and is noiseless and throws out a nice strong wind. I am quite impressed with the company as they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with their product. Thank you Mengnessly for reaching out to this customer and making things right, not many companies care that much these days!

Works well, easy to set up.
I bought these fans for my garage, which I'm converting into a man cave-type area as a gift for my husband. I didn't want anything heavy, and I wanted to be able to move them around to find the best place for them. These were perfect. They're quiet, lightweight, put out a decent amout of air, and are easy to put together. They have a pretty long cord, which is nice. Some people have complained that the cord twists around it and pulls out. This happens because the hanger allows you to just hang it on a hook, where it can turn and get the cord wrapped around. I just used some short zip ties to fasten the hanger so it stays more stationary, and it seems to work. Some people have complained about blades flying out. I haven't had that problem, but my guess is those people didn't realize you have to push the blades all the way in until they snap in place. These are very lightweight and I get why some people think they look cheap. But once they're up there, they look fine for my purposes.

Works great and then doesn't....
Installed easily (make sure to install the blades as shown in the image with the "700mm" facing up) and worked great, moves a ton of air, cools a large outdoor gazebo area and keeps the bugs away. Used it the entire summer of 2024 and then put it away for the winter. Took it out two weeks ago and it no longer works. Replaced the batteries in the remote, the remote LED (bright red) lights up when I press the buttons, but no response. Pressing the physical button does nothing either. Upset because it worked great when it worked, but not sure why a few months in a box in the basement would kill it. There is a blank button on the remote, I wasn't sure if that was for pairing with the fan? But there are no instructions anywhere so not sure if that's required. Will probably purchase a different model for now, but would come back to this fan if I could get more than 5 months out of it...

Quiet Efficiency: Mengnessly 28" Inch Ceiling Fan Transforms Outdoor Comfort!
I recently added two Mengnessly 28" Inch Ceiling Fans to our outdoor screen room, and I am thoroughly impressed with their performance. Living in an area where the climate can be quite warm, finding an effective cooling solution for our outdoor spaces was a priority. These fans have exceeded my expectations. Firstly, the installation process was straightforward, and the fans integrated seamlessly into our outdoor decor. The design is sleek and unobtrusive, making them a stylish addition to our screen room. The most remarkable feature of these fans is how quiet they are. Even when operating at full capacity, the noise level is minimal, allowing for peaceful relaxation without the distraction of a loud motor. Despite their quiet operation, these fans generate a surprisingly strong breeze, significantly improving the comfort level of our outdoor space. The versatility of being able to use them with AC 110V or DC 12V power sources is a bonus, offering flexibility in how and where we can use them. Whether it's a gentle breeze we're after during a quiet evening or a stronger airflow during the hotter parts of the day, these fans deliver. In conclusion, the Mengnessly 28" Inch Ceiling Fans are a fantastic investment for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor living experience. They offer quiet operation, efficient cooling, and a sleek design, making them an excellent choice for any outdoor screen room.

Good little fan but horrible inline controller
The 5v fan is nice and quiet and moves alot of air for its size but the inline switch fails within a day or two. Even the replacement i got failed the exact same way(resistor blows inside the inline switch housing) so I bought a usb speed controller and now I can speed up or slow down the fan smoothly with variable speeds. Like all the other 5v-12v fans out there the plastic blades snap in place and hold securly(make sure they are oriented the correct way up and you push all the way in until it "pops*into place) to me it almost felt like I was going to break them but they did give the last little pop and were fully seated and with no tools needed.

This fan has a manufacturing defect !
This fan has a defect, every time you start it or change the speed is jolts viciously, and the plug pops out. It doesn’t matter how you string up the power cord the power cord still pops out of its socket! I ordered another one thinking it was defective and the replacement does the same thing, very disappointed. I contacted the company and they respond without offering any help or options and the thing is they’re aware of the problem. When you continue the conversation they just stop responding and ignore you! Don’t waste your time and money dealing with a company that doesn’t respect their customers.

Great fan, BUT developed a "starting" problem within a week. Will continue to test.
I left four stars because these fans work well. HOWEVER, after a week, it began to develop issues when I turn it on. It would start to spin for one second and then stop. Turn it on again, it would spin for one second and stop. The only way I could keep it going is to hit start one second, and hit start a second time one second later. I love this fan, but may need to return it due to this issue. I also bought a second one (both for my sun room that gets very warm, but it is still in the box, so I hope this flaw is not something they all have. Update: I figured out the reason this fan was not starting was due to the "centrifugal kick" it has when it tries to start. That kick was moving the power connector on the top that caused a slight interruption to the power. I was able to fix this by using a tyrap binding the cable so it won't move when it kicks on.

Make sure you CLICK the blades in
Can't stress it enough when inserting the blades, it won't do the trick unless you hear the click! The remote is a bit hit and miss and the main spindle has a bit of a kick to it when activated or stepping the motor up or down so best to secure it tightly if using the hook. Provides a nice breeze in my gazebo making a humid day (near 30 degrees Celsius/86 Fahrenheit) actually comfortable. Other than that, it works - a decent product for a good price!
