My mat lays flat when unfolded with no curling at any of the edges or corners. The quality of the materials and design give the mat a premium look and feel. I chose the Khaki corduroy design for multiple floor types. I'm glad I didn't choose the clear polycarbonate mat because the corduroy fabric provides the perfect amount of friction to make my chair's wheels roll easily without any undesirable drift. On the underside, thousands of tiny rubber beads help provide something for my low-pile carpet to grip. While I'm sitting in my chair on the mat it doesn't seem to slide. The mat does slide a tiny bit occasionally if I'm standing off of the mat to push my chair under the desk, but the light weight of the mat makes it easy to move back into place. In my opinion that's an expected compromise for the one-size-fits-all design which allows this mat to be used on carpet, hardwood, and laminate flooring. The tri-fold design is genius. Because the mat takes up very little volume when folded, the cardboard packaging was very minimalistic at H36" x W17.5" and only 1" thick. The included instructions mention that the core of the mat is a PVC material, which reminds me of thick plastic display board. I really like that because it's a great compromise between rigidity, flexibility, and durability. If any liquids should come into contact with the mat, the worst that I can imagine happening is the corduroy cotton fabric getting stained. Nothing will soak through the mat to stain the flooring/carpet underneath. Also, the edges are finished with a binding of a nice PU-Leather kind of material which creates a small lip that might prevent light spills from running off the mat. I love this mat, and I'm relieved that my chair's caster wheels won't be gradually destroying my carpet. It's also reassuring not having to deal with those little spikes on cheap plastic floor mats when they inevitably break off. As a bonus, the khaki color is a great complement to my furniture and it's easy to fold the mat back up and move out of the way when I vacuum the carpet. 4.9 out of 5 stars for this one.

Color me impressed in general. I have rolled around on it for a couple of weeks and no dents. This is impressive as the polycarbonate one (you know the "unbreakable" one that cracks almost immediately on carpet?) cracked within a week and then dents in the cracks. I have a med pile berber carpet, the kind that was popular in the 90s. Lasts forever, but it's carpet and hard to roll around on, so I need a chair mat. My original chair mat lasted for 15 years. One of those old school plastic ones before they made them so thin as to be useless. Replaced with the polycarbonate one that limped long for 2 years because I could find nothing better. Until this. Not so heavy I can't move it, folds up if you wanted to move it, I can roll around with ease, this doesn't leave dents I get stuck in. The only complaint I have is that it does travel a bit on my carpet. 2 inches a day, so I have to straighten it at the end of the day. It only travels when I move in the forward motion, if it traveled both ways I'd be fine with it. Still worth it to me, that is a small consideration for something that lets me roll on my carpeted space easily. Buying another one for a different area. Wish they came in a 48 " square. I'd buy five more.

I recently moved into a house with a carpeted office room, but was not aware that chairs and carpets don't mix. It was a such a pain to move around without having to stand up and move the chair independently. Never having carpets before, I was not aware that they made pads for just that situation. And until I went over the reviews for them, I wasn't aware that not all chair pads are created equal. I purchased this one because of its good reviews and am very pleased with my purchase - I can move my chair, with me on it, with ease. With a wide selection of patterns and colors to choose from, I found just the perfect one to match my casual decor. Only one small thing: if I accidently rolled the chair off the edge of the pad, I couldn't get it to roll back on the pad without getting off and lifting the chair. Not a big deal; I learned to not roll it over the edge. Packaging was great - and it comes folded; but once laid flat, you would never know it had been folded for shipping. And it lays perfectly flat from the first time you lay it down.

Much better quality than I imagined for $26.00. Works perfectly on my low pile rug.

Latest update 3 months later. I couldn’t stand this mat sliding around on my carpet. So I bought a cheap clear hard plastic mat for 10 bucks off Facebook Marketplace that has those little carpet spikes on the bottom and put this mat on top of it. That worked and it no longer slides. I really like this mat and was glad I could find a solution. Love the color. Unfortunately it moves a little on my carpet. Going to put down some anti slide mesh to see if that helps. Update! anti slide didn’t help so I knocked off a star. I really like the idea behind this product and the design but it just won’t stay in place.

I was so excited to see and get this. Loved how I didn't have to spend days flattening it out, but after just a few days of use, it is no longer staying flat. The edges curl up and jam into my chairs wheels when I roll off of it during the normal use of my day. This mat sits on a very compressed low-pile carpet (it's had solid mats on it for years), but it's just squishy enough to make this mat curl up. Sad, because I LOVE the design. I wish it came in the larger size so that I wouldn't keep rolling off of it (or that it had a sold backing and wouldn't curl up). Edit: reduced from 3 stars to 1. This thing has become a major trip hazard. But, I bought a pair of steel framing squares (16x24) ($15x2) and some construction adhesive ($15) and fixed it. I glued the framing squares to the part of the mat that is where I walk (and where the chair wheels go). So, the $36 mat, plus $45 worth of materials and I have what I was originally hoping for.

Would you like a mat that takes 1 month to deliver, has someone (or something's) hair all over it, along with other debris? If not, you should avoid this.
