Plants thrive in this substrate. Works really well for my crested gecko enclosures. Wouldn't buy anything else after the results I've had with plant growth and long term maintenance.

I brought this to replace my geckos substrate. Was very disappointed at first because I just put the mix straight into my gecko tank and it caused alot of moisture... which made my geckos wooden hides and branches to go MOULDY. This made me fear for my geckos health because they can get respiratory problems from mould and excess moisture. After this, I read through the amazon reviews about airing the mixture before using it to let the moisture out. So, I thought I'd give this a try and mix it with a high percentage of play sand too. Annoyingly, I had to completely strip the tank because of the mould and buy all new hides. So, this one little change cost me alot in the long run... but at least my gecko seems to like it now I've dried it out and mixed it with a high percentage of sand. Also, just wanted to mention cleaning it abit easier now too cause I can just scoop the poo out of her substrate.
