FANTASTIC! Worked like a charm for foster kittens.
We used this comfort kitty when we had foster kittens who were separated from their mumma and it was amazing for those first few days of being without mommy cat - really soothing for the littlest kitten who was very attached to his mom. It's now being used for a family member with dementia who is in palliative care - she LOVES cats and dogs but cannot have one with her - she's had calmeroo kitty with her now for a few weeks. This comfort kitty has really brought comfort to so many kitties and now hoomans it's well worth the investment.

The fourth member of the cat herd…
Was very pleased to see the open documentation that this is a Canadian company and a Canadian product given the current state of tariff and trade war nonsense. Thank you very much for clearly disclosing that. Separate from enthusiastically ‘supporting local’ this item is everything that it claims to be. We had some recent household changes which noticeably altered the schedules that our three big cats are familiar with. Our cat herd can be broken down as follows: brothers that were rescued from a Prairie province during the pandemic who spent all of their time alone together until they were 16 weeks and the youngest (and biggest), a Maine coon. Whenever there is stress, the brothers go back to their original template: happy to hang out together. But the Maine coon is largely left to figure things out on his own. This purchase was made with him and in mind. None of the guys like the ‘new cat’ when his heartbeat is not audible. As long as his heartbeat is switched on, it seems very much as though he’s been invited as the fourth member of their collective. Everyone takes turns cuddling. It is very robustly made. Batteries came in the heartbeat generator and are locked away behind screws so they can’t accidentally be accessed and cause problems. While the Velcro that seals up the pocket compartment for the heat pack, and the heartbeat generator is hidden away from immediate cat observation it wasn’t a battle for me to find it and open it (I’ve lost a lot of sensation in my fingers and fumbling is both common and frustrating). The photo that I’ve included is of our Maine coon— he curls up to sleep with the new guy and is often seen to be curling closer and closer to the heartbeat generator. Outstanding. Thank you..

What a fantastic product.
I am fostering kittens who came to me at 2 weeks old. I had them on a heating pad with a hot water bottle but the second I put this cat in, they curled up to it and finally looked relaxed. It is a great product and after 2 weeks the heartbeat is going strong and the hot packs are wonderful. I have replaced them every 3 days with hand warmer style packs which are easy to find. I love that the product is made in Canada, comes with batteries!!! and warmer packs. And it is washable, which is great with kittens who aren't litter trained yet. Highly recommended.

Just Buy a Regular Stuffed Animal
I'm currently fostering newborn kittens. In doing research on how to raise them, I found the Calmeroos Kitty. It's also recommended on The Kitten Lady website. The Kitty comes with two heat packs that last 36 hours. Unfortunately, the pouch to place the heat packs is underneath. 24 hours later the pack was still warm, but barely. Given all the padding on top of the Calmeroos, the kittens can't feel it unless you flip it over. I used electronic heating pad under their blanket instead. The heart is very faint and sounds more like a ticking clock or watch. Since newborn kittens can't hear, it's not beneficial until they're older. Because the heart is so faint, the kittens can't even feel the vibration. If you really want the sound, there are better devices that mimic heartbeats. Changing the battery on the heart is a pain. A tiny screw holds the compartment in place. Prying it open was difficult. I had to use tweezers and work very carefully not to break it. I got tired of hassling with it and just left the compartment open. One thing I really appreciate is the Calmeroos Kitty is machine washable. My kittens do like this kitty very much. However, I've used less expensive stuffed animals in the past when fostering kittens and found them to be just as effective. In conclusion, save your money on this. Invest in a soft stuffed animal, a heating pad, and a device that mimics a heartbeat.

Cheaply made and not worth the cost
We bought this for our 8 week old border collie/blue heeler puppy. We had bought this to help ease the transition for our puppy leaving its mom and litter mates for the first time. We had gotten the mom's/littermates scent on it and put the heart inside it. After a couple of hours, our puppy had gotten the velcro open and tossed the heart across the room. After that incident, we decided that we would not put the heart back inside (we also decided that it might not be safe to put the heating bag inside since the velcro could open so easily.). We decided to continue to allow our puppy to continue to have access to this product as it had his mom/littermates smell on it still and we were hopeful that the smells would be comforting. After 5 days the velcro was torn out. The seam along the tail is torn and the stuffing falling out. Luckily the heart and heating pad were not inside when this happened. If I had put the heating pad inside my puppy could have died as the heading pad is toxic for dogs (and cats). This product is not safe to leave alone with any animal, let alone at night (or anytime the puppy is trying to sleep) Not work the money. I wish I didn't waste $50 purchasing this. Pretty disappointing :(
