These are good brushes for the money. If you care for fine shoes, you will need a brush for each color and they do wear out with use, so it can be expensive over time. These brushes are authentic horsehair with a pretty good density and they do not shed bristles inordinately (a few at first, which is not unexpected). They came packaged (as shown) to prevent bristle distortion, which is a nice touch. The size and shape is good as well: The dauber handle is 6 3/4" long x 1/2" thick and the bristles are 3/4" long. The bristle grouping diameter is 1 1/2" which will handle any cream polish jar and get into smaller shoe crevices. Some of the premium daubers are a bit larger in diameter, but I think it's a trade-off. The polishing brush is 6 5/8" long x 2" wide x 3/4" thick with 1" bristles. These dimensions (especially the width) are slightly smaller than some of the premium brushes that cost $16-$22 each, so no real complaints here. The brush is slightly curved, as it should be, but a bit more curvature like you see on premium brushes would be better. The bristle stiffness is on par with other horsehair brushes I've used and I would not hesitate to use these brushes on $300 and up leather shoes. Take a look at the photos for details. While not "top of the heap", considering the price, these are a great buy and I highly recommend them. I am rating these five stars adjusted for price, but even price independent, I would give these four stars.

These are really beautiful and high quality brushes for treating leather boots. Up until now I always used a toothbrush and rags, which worked fine, but these are so much better. Not only do they function so much better, they also just feel good in the hand to use and are nice to look at too. Such a quality set for such a low price is amazing. Getting 2 of each brush is super handy too, you can use them for different kinds of wax or polish. Lastly, I like that they are made from natural materials- wood and horse hair are just far superior to plastic in every way. These are an easy recommendation for me to make, 5 stars!

I have heard of many uses for horsehair brushes other than just shoe polish. I got these to help polish my stained glass, and also I have heard horsehair is good for laundry stains. I like that it had 2 different sizes and 2 of each.

I've been using a Kiwi brush for years, and I've always thought it was too small. I was right. These brushes are much bigger. They fit in the hand better. They shine shoes just as good, or better, than a Kiwi brush, and that's good enough for me. The kit comes with two brushes (brown/black), but I only wear black shoes. So I gave the the other set to my son. He likes them, too.

It's a shoe shine kit. You can't go wrong with this trusted brand KG makes the best and it's an American company made in America! The brush is horsehair which is the traditional shoe polishing material. The only thing you need to do is buy some shoe polish and get to work! I polished my black dress shoes and it's awesome to work with a kit that has more than a brush. The next thing I need to take care of is a leather hat and I know KG has some products for that.

This is a really good value pack. I liked that it had 2 of each so that i can use them for different things such as one for polishes and one for dyes. The bristles are nice and soft and so far have not had any issues with durability. For the price i really dont think you can go wrong with these. I can see many uses other than using them for shoes such as leather seats in cars or furniture. These are very versatile.

So far I like this set for my shoe polishing needs. I actually hadn't had nice applicator brushes before, I would steal my wife's makeup wedges instead. This is definitely better, you can apply the polish without much worry of getting it on your hands. The big brushes are very soft and give a nice buff job to the polish. As soft as they are they take a bit more time than some others I've had, but I think this allows the polish to remain on there better, they shine it up rather than rub it away.

So I have been using these brushes for more than polishing shoes just to put them through the ringer. Yes. I've polished shoes too, but i want to see how the bristles and the wood hold up. They're holding up great! Wet, scrubbing and regular application, so far no signs of long lasting damage or falling off bristles. They apply the conditioners just fine, and generally it's a fine set to use.
