Raw, smelly fabric

The odor from these garments is awful Very musty and pungent. And it is raw un-hemmed fabric so you cannot wash it until you add a hem or it will be destroyed. Is this traditional?

fabric is cut k and the ends are not finished

it looks great in the photos but the ends are not finished so to take the starch off when the fabric was washed in a gentle, it fell apart. very disappointed
