Gapagap? What's that? Have you ever eaten your food quickly because you were super hungry? That's called eating your food gapagap! This is a story about three siblings who are famished, so their father sets out to satisfy their hunger pangs. With their stomachs grumbling and mouths watering, the kids eagerly wait for their father to rustle up a meal. What unfolds is a heartwarming tale of a family bonding over the joys of delicious rotis . This children's picture book is ideal for 0 to 6 year olds to develop their Hindi language skills. It creates the opportunity to learn Hindi vocabulary - words such as 'aakaar' which means shapes and fun phrases such as 'pet mein choohe kood rahe hain' which refers to hunger pangs! The English transliteration of Hindi Devanagari script helps English-speakers to easily read aloud the story while also learning Hindi. Review: My kids LOVE this - I've been looking for authentic Indian stories that are fun and engaging for the kids to learn Hindi from and this was a perfect find. It's impossibly rare to find books of this quality that showcase our rich Indian heritage and subconsciously normalize 'desi' culture for our kids so that they grow up feeling proud of who they are. I hope Sheena keeps writing many more books like this - it's much needed and appreciated! Review: Such a fun book to read with little ones. - Such a fun book to read aloud with your little ones especially if you want to keep them engaged during meal times. It will make them hungry and ask for more rotis. The book sets a great example of how to spend quality family time and kitchen is such a fun place to create delicious food together! I enjoyed reading it with my 5 year old and we will be reading it together again, soon.

My kiddo loves this book!
Love how this book contains Hindi transliteration for people like me who can't read the standard Hindi script. It's all about a father teaching his kids how to make the perfect roti. This books helps me connect with my daughter in her heritage language and centers around one of her favorite foods :) Highly recommend!

Awesome book
My son loves the book. Kudos to the author for showing a dad making rotis (typically only associated with mothers).

Cute , Well written Hindi Book for children
Gapagap is an endearing Hindi book that delves into the realm of Indian cuisine and highlights the special bond between a father and his children. The bilingual charm, presented in both Hindi script and transliteration, adds an enriching layer to the reading experience. Sheena Garg skillfully employs phonetics and rhymes, ensuring the book's appeal spans across all age groups. The illustrations not only captivate with their charm but also authentically portray a South Asian household. This delightful book comes highly recommended for young children, offering them exposure to the Hindi language and the diversity of South Asian culture. A noteworthy aspect is the portrayal of the father actively participating in parenting and serving food, challenging gender biases often associated with the kitchen being solely a mother's domain. Being a Hindi language educator , highly recommend!

Fabulous bedtime story for Hindi speakers!
This is a brilliant addition to the world of bilingual stories - especially for South Asian diaspora families. I love love love the illustrations and gently rhyming Hindi story. Also love that the main caregiver is a loving Papa which provides a much needed gender-equal family representation. This book would be perfect for parents who are fluent Hindi speakers looking for high quality, original storytelling and authentic illustrations for their young children. Will definitely be giving this as a present to my siblings and cousins with kids this year! Such a lovely book.

Kids picture and story book
Gapagap is a very cute picture book for small children. In this book, Sheena has presented a daily activity of an Indian family where a dad cooks fresh rotis( Indian flat bread) for his 3 kids. She has used simple hindi words which rhyme and are also explained in English. It's a perfect book to read to small kids and a little older kids read it on their own. The illustration is very charming and complements the story perfectly ๐ฅฐ
