Ktaxon DIY Flame Design Electric Guitar

Quality craftmanship, the neck was a snug fit and alignment was spot on. All the predrilled holes were in the right location. Assembly was nice and smooth, although it could have more detailed instructions. (I could never get to the link they supplied for building instructions.) It has a nice sound to it too. Mind you it doesn't sound quite like the Les Paul, but the whole guitar kit cost less than one of the Les Paul's pickups. So I am very happy with this guitar, and I am considering buying another one to stain a cherry red.

I’ve put together a few kits now. This one has become my new favorite guitar to play, and it looks awesome. Partial credit to me for making it look awesome but I can’t get over the quality of the parts in this kit. Super lightweight and sounds incredible plugged in or not. Highly recommend this one. Wiring was plug in so no soldering needed. Props to these guys this is a fantastic kit.

I haven't strung it yet. So you know what I don't know yet. The neck didn't fit into the pocket just right. It was VERY close, but had a little up/down wiggle that I fixed with 3 small squares of duct tape. The only part where the screw hole was a bit off on was the tension rod cover on the head of the guitar. The top hole was slightly off. The inlay on the neck looks amazing! The neck's wood grain is perfectly straight, so I won't have to worry about twisting in high humidity. It's made of maple, so it's likely also pretty strong. The head of the guitar has a very nice backward angle and won't require string trees, which is wonderful! The tuners will probably be OK, however they aren't locking and aren't of great quality metal. One has a black spot on it, like the chrome coating wasn't complete. I usually replace the tuners anyway, especially with a bender system. The body wood is fine grain and very nice looking. Of course, it's hard to find a two piece body that has consistent color, but oh well. It's not too bad for staining anyway. One of the pickup casing screws was a little stripped, but it just holds the pickups onto the guitar and isn't a big deal. The back cover for the electronics fit perfectly in the routed slot for it. (Very nice) It truly doesn't feel like there's any wood conditioner or sealer on it at all, so it should be ready for staining straight out of the box, and I'm very happy about that, as the last kit I bought was sealed and that takes a lot off effort to fully sand out. Mine's going to be a nice purple stain that shows the grain well and sealed with Lacquer. I might update this after I get it strung, when I find out what the pickups sound like. I'm not expecting too much, but one never knows. The backing material on the pickups are of pretty bad quality metal. I don't know if the neck is straight or if the frets need leveling, but they are dressed WONERFULLY! No sharp edges and polished very well. Overall, for $65.00 US (with coupon, but now gone up to $85), it's an absolute steal! Oh, and the tuners are one peg and one screw. UPDATE: I strung the guitar-WOW, I was expecting nothing from the pickups, buy they were smooth, clear and sharp with great attack, even with heavy distortion! Looks like I'll be keeping the pickups after all!

Just got this guitar in the mail today 3rd guitar ever owned still a beginner with no actual guitar skills just someone wanting to learn without breaking the bank. First off super easy to put together only problem I had was sliding the neck into the body just sanded one side of the neck at the base still a snug fit but at least I know is nicely secured. Great beginner guitar definitely worth the price. Sound is nice too even with my cheap crappy amp that I already had l.

It is a great kit with ebony fretboard and resonant mahogany body. I put a brass mass block on from the get go, and sanded the frets, but stripped the bolts from putting on and taking off the neck. Had to shim the back of the neck pocket. HH are 12N and 11.3 B, and sound very good. The tuners are OK at 16:1 gear ratio. Oil on the FB makes the ebony stand out with the sharktooth inlays done well. Nut fine. 24 jumbo frets. I put on strap locks instead of the fender cheapo ones. It is now a fine guitar with great sustain and tone in all three positions of the switch. The directions were not that good and it required some knowledge and tools. Harder bolts would be nice. Be careful.

Eh, I wasn't expecting anything crazy good from this. I'm a well experienced, advanced guitarist and had sold all my guitars a while ago (life ya know?) Still on the coming up end of having the money to replace them but wanted something in the meantime. Here's what to expect Build: very simple to set up. Everything went in its place and gave no issues. I wouldn't recommend this for someone with absolutely no experience. As you'll need to adjust the tensioner rod, action, and intonate the string placement. But there are videos out there. So to each their own Quality: I won't really complain about the quality all that much. I will say, I was worried about recieving a warped or bent neck. Thankfully it was straight Sound: the big one. Don't get your hopes up. The pickups aren't bad honestly. And with proper adjustments of the tensioner rod, action, and intonation, the sound isn't per say bad. You know how you can buy a jackson JS22 for like 200 bucks and get something that sounds like what an electric guitar sounds like stereotypically? Yeah, this isn't the same. It definitely is a grade or so below that kind of sound. But honestly, something for a beginner, I'd say this is more than exceptional Overall I'd say this is something for a beginner. If you're intermediate or above, save your time and the little bit of money. Good for bedroom playing at most in that case. Overall I'd give it a 6/10

Everything fits and works like it should. This flame body guitar is worth a lot more. Pickups are smooth sounding not sharp. I will not replace them. I want to buy another model G-666 guitar even though I prefer a short scale neck. Cannot comment on the whammy action as I keep my bridge screwed down. I love this light weight guitar. Update 10-25 Replaced the pickups with Fleor Alnico 2 from Amazon. Finished with matte clear because mine was raw wood and I liked it. I play this guitar as much as my Epiphones, sounds as good and weighs less.

If you're looking for a professional kit, this is not it. But it is a great little kit that my daughter had a blast building. She plays it regularly and she loves it. So for a fun project for a guitar player, this is great!

Everything fit together and worked perfectly, besides the nut was way too big, nothing on the first fret can be played
