1 of a kind device, works superbly
The SwitchBot Curtain is one of those smart home devices that just makes life easier. I installed it on my heavy, energy-efficient curtains, and it had no trouble opening and closing them smoothly. Now, instead of manually adjusting them throughout the day, I have them set on a schedule to let in natural light in the morning and close at night for privacy.Setup was surprisingly simple, and the motor is quiet but powerful. The battery lasts a long time, but I have an outlet right next to the curtains where I installed this and will likely go that route instead of the solar panel. The curtain opener also integrates well with other SwitchBot products, making automation seamless. I have it exposed to Home Assistant and it works like a charm! For anyone looking to make their home smarter and more convenient, this is a great addition. Highly recommend!

Has worked GREAT
- My expectations were very LOW for this product. It just seemed a little gimmicky. And as you can see the reviews are not stellar. But whatever, I had a new home and I wanted to do a lot of automation particularly around my office ("the engine room").- I bought a pair to try em' out. After one month I liked them so much I bought another pair, the HUB2, and the Solar Rechargers!- I have the HUB2 linked to Apple Home Kit and the things just work flawlessly. "Hey Siri. Good morning!" is one of my favorite things to say in the morning as my lights come on and my curtains open.- This product has been SOLIID for 4 months so far, and it's still fine.- The only modification I had to do was... I have the smallest curtain rod size it will take... and over time... I noticed one rod would rotate. This becomes a problem because there are special metallic stickers that be SwitchBot needs to see in the middle of the rod... and when they can't be sensed... it causes issues. But I fixed the bar from rolling, and after that... it's been 100%- I was very skeptical that the solar rechargers would work too... BUT THEY DO! Checking right now .. after 3 months... I have not had to charge them one time! My office gets direct sun a few- Firmware upgrades happen! They care about good software!- And it's smart software. It has never once run rampant because it can't sense the magnets in the center of the rod (when I had that issue) nor has it gotten confused and run off the end. When it didn't the magnets, in my case, it made an intelligent guess as to where to stop.- They are expensive, $400 for 2 windows is an attention getter, but I must say I do like mine.- Solid product. Heavy duty. Great plastic choice.- The only thing I would change if I could is the noise. It's not horrible, it's not even bad, it just sounds a little gear-e. But I'll take it.

Pretty Cool and Handy—But Why Do I Need an Account?
It’s a pretty neat gadget! Straightforward to set up, making it easy to automate your curtains in no time. Programming the schedule is a breeze—you can tailor it to your daily routine with a few taps, like having your curtains open on weekday mornings and close in the evenings, or sleep in a bit on weekends with later opening times. The flexibility of the scheduling options is definitely one of its strongest features. That said, there are a few drawbacks. For example, requiring an account to use the app feels a bit unnecessary, especially when all you want is to control your curtains without the extra steps. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it does take away from the overall seamless experience. In terms of functionality, though, the device performs as expected, and the motor is strong enough to handle even heavier curtains. If you catch it on sale, it’s an even better deal! All things considered, I’m giving it a 4/5—good value with just a few minor frustrations.Although I strongly recommend buying this one sale

Works great, but instructions could be better
Ordered 2 Switchbot Curtain 3s (without solar panel) to make opening and closing my 112” length Pinch Pleated back tab curtains easy. I found the instructions to be a bit lacking. One important thing not mentioned in the instructions is that you need to hold the ‘add device’ button for several seconds before trying to charge the battery. But with the help of several Youtubes, I did get the two Switchbots installed for center opening (using Bluetooth only). They work great! Will order more Switchbot Curtain 3s for my French door curtains.

Not as expected
First off, my bad, I ordered one thinking what I ordered would open the curtains, especially at the price. I was wrong and even though one of the pictures in the description showed 2, opening the curtains, there is only 1 in the box, so if you have curtains instead of a single curtain, you need 2. My wife liked the present, so I had to order another one. Then, after an hour of setup getting the curtains to look right, she figures out it does not work with Alexa as it says in the big print, you need a hub like it says in the fine print. Now after the setup, over expense and annoyance that it is not at all as I expected when I ordered, every time she opens the app it says she has to disconnect and reconnect because something went wrong. The only reason I have not returned yet is because of what a pain these have been to get to this point, and hoping that whatever the app issue is gets itself worked out. Not likely though I am guessing, very likely a return coming. I feel scammed and hope no one else makes the mistake of ordering these…..great idea, miserable execution and deceptive selling. Very expensive junk.
