Do you have to change the filter or just clean it ?

It doesn’t pull enough air to require a filter cleaning. And since it doesn’t move air, it also doesn’t dehumidify. I have 2 and live in high humidity East Texas. This is merely a toy masquerading as a dehumidifier.
