Great buy for the RV roaming family
Very high quality, easy to use, and have great battery life. Their rang really will depend on the surrounding interference and landscape, but they do get great range. They also have many great features and function well; and are truly water proof. I do feel they are a little high in price but not a lot.

CB radios
I would just like to start by saying Cobra is hands down one of the best companies for CB radios and walkie talkies I picked these out cuz I work at 84 lumber and I needed some good radios and I went far and would come in clear I grabbed four pairs of these and these were absolutely one of the best choices to go with their waterproof they're dust proof they're pretty much bump through the build quality is okay the plastic is iffy the functionality is perfect for up to a mile battery life is absolutely great I've had it for 2 days and didn't need to charge it and it's fast charging dock is awesome hands down these are worth the money

Good little radio - I'm very happy with it.
I'm total newbie and did a lot of research before I decided to buy this radio and I'm overall I'm very happy with it. Since there are already more than enough reviews here on Amazon about this model, so I will focus on the issues that I found less discussed: - Microphone Volume: It is true, the microphone volume is not impressive. However I according to what I read this is often the case with other waterproof radios as well. So it seems to be somewhat of a necessary evil for the water proofing function. Interestingly just like I read in someone's review, it was as if the microphone got better after opening the external microphone port and letting the pressure to equalize. MOST IMPORTANTLY you MUST talk CLOSELY and DIRECTLY into the speaker/microphone, meaning your nose should almost touch the mode button. If you are trying to talk like on a celphone, then the radio won't pick up your voice well and the others won't hear you loudly. - Range: If you research this subject you will find that most of the experts will agree: the manufacturers claim of 35 miles range is likely (if at all) only going to happen under ideal conditions from mountain top to mountain top. As for RANGE IN SUBURBAN CITY TESTING we got close to 1 MILE on the stronger (2 Watt) GMRS Channels (Channel 15-22) and about 1/3 MILE on the weaker (0.5 Watt) FRS Channels (Channel 8-14). It needs to be mentioned that it IS VERY important what channel you are using not only because of the differences in range, but also because currently the FCC actually requires you to get have a license for using the GMRS Channels. Having said that, while one GMRS license will cover you and your entire family, there is no license requirement for using the FRS Channels. You will find this information printed in the users manual of this radio as well (on page 21 under General Specifications and Licensing). -Compatibility: From what I read so far, FRS and GMRS Channel Frequencies are standard, which means you can talk to any other FRS/GMRS radio as long identical numerical channels are selected. - GMRS Repeater Capability: Those who are interested in using this feature will already know, this radio is not repeater capable. From what I read, as far as hand helds go, currently only a few Motorola phones and a phone from Olympia are repeater capable.

Almost Started a Fire - Battery Compartment Does NOT Accept Newer-Production AA NiMH Batteries
As stated in the title, I thought these were pretty good... UNTIL it came time to replace the included NiMH batteries with a new set of AA NiMH batteries. The problem is, the NiMH AA batteries that come with this radio are about .18mm narrower, each, than any modern-day NiMH AA you can buy. The battery compartment holds 3x AA batteries. This means that it is impossible to get three modern-production AA NiMH batteries into the battery compartment. The extra nearly .60mm of width somehow did something to the contacts and within a few seconds of trying to insert the 3rd replacement AA into the battery bay I began to smell melting plastic. Sure enough, the plastic inside the battery bay near the positive contact of one battery and the negative contact of the battery immediately next to it, was melting. Literally MELTING. Clearly, a short was created when trying to cram the 3rd AA battery in the compartment alongside the other two. Upon smelling the electrical smell and seeing the plastic melting I immediately pried the AA NiMH batteries from the radio (NOT an easy feat, as again, the battery compartment is NOT wide-enough for modern-production AA NiMH batteries. Yes, this sounds weird, AA is supposed to be AA-sized... but in reality if you take a digital caliper to different brands of AA NiMH batteries you will immediately see the differences in diameter between brands. So, now I have one burned/melted radio... and a second I can't use because it also will not accept modern-day sized NiMH batteries. For reference, I tried the following AA NiMH rechargeable battery brands and NONE of them would fit! * Amazon Basics AA NiMH * EBL Gold Pro * Sanyo Eneloop I measured all three of the above brands with a digital caliper and all three of them not only differed in overall diameters from each-other - but also all three of the above brands were larger in diameter than the AA NiMH batteries which had come with these Cobra radios (and which, themselves, barely fit in the battery compartment)

Great radio with an impressive range
Bought these for camping when anyone goes off hiking or fishing or whatever, we are out where cell phones don't work and these Def help stay in contact. the range was impressive. Durable, quality and they float. Would highly recommend.

Please don’t pay that much money for this item
The range is not accurate and they don’t work on the city. The ranch on the city is only a couple 100 foot

Amazing weather radios and amazing walkie talkies!
Bought these for a trip out to the Boundary Waters (BWCA). Audio quality was what you'd expect out of a walkie talkie, except these are LOUD at full volume! Much louder than my previous Cobra radios for sure. I personally prefer a louder walkie talkie over a quieter one so I can actually hear when someone's talking to me, especially when it's real windy out on a boat. We had a walkie talkie set up with a makeshift antenna to receive weather station broadcasts in case of any severe weather. The batteries on it lasted a little over 3 days in weather alert mode (with some occasional use for communication), only needing to be replaced on the second to last day of our trip. If you're having trouble with audio quality, open up the headphone jack plug on the top of the walkie talkie for a few seconds and then close it again. Since these are sealed, they can be at a different internal pressure than the air around them which messes up the speaker audio.
