I don't use any hood. I have mine hooked up with propane. CO2 and water vapor aren't too bad as combustion byproducts

Do I have to change anything on the stove for me to use propane gas? Any kit or conversion kit?

No you just need a holes with a clamp to make it work thats all everything works very good
