RADICO Colour ME Organic Natural Hair Colour 100g- Mahogany

Package arrived earlier than expected. It came nicely packaged with gloves, brush and hair cap. The preparation is easy, all you have to do is just mix it with water. The downside of this product is that there were quite a lot of lumps in it. Although I tried to get rid of them, some still ended up in my hair annoyingly. The smell of the product is quite strong just as the usual henna and will probably linger in your hair for a little while, but it is nothing to be afraid of. I am especially pleased with the colour. I got a little bit afraid because as I was washing it the water coming out of my hair was green. It also stained my bathtub, but it turned out that it just takes a scrub with some soap to clean it completely. My hair is medium brown and after leaving the product in it for two hours my hair really has a dark mahogany colour. Something that is impossible with just pure henna. I have some light (almost blond) hair in the front and they turned out as light brown, so maybe I would recommend if you are naturally blond/light brown, you should let it stay in your hair for longer, or apply multiple times. Overall I would recommend this brand because it is quite difficult to find a pure herbal hair dye in so many shades. I definitely want to try more of their products in the future!

I usually have, at best, very average things to say about hair dye so it's refreshing to write a positive review. This dye not only provides a really natural colour, whilst keeping colour for a good length of time, but the packet provides really good value for money too. I have thick, medium length, hair and the packet lasts me around four dyes. When mixed with water the dye does smell of soggy grass cuttings, but I see this as a sign of its natural qualities. This smell also does not linger on hair once the dye is rinsed off. Requires very basic measuring skills. If you struggle with this aspect, take it as a sign that you're numeracy skills suck and work on that.

I was nervous about trying this, but it was straightforward & I'm pleased with the results. I'll update this review if I change my mind after a few days (used for first time this morning). I have curly hair past my shoulders, and some greys. Simple to use & smells much better than that acrid smell from the L'oreals I've always used. I suppose it requires a little bit of hippy diy but not too taxing. Mix the powder with warm water (I used 50g powder), slather it over your hair as per usual, put on a shower cap (provided). I wrapped a towel over the shower cap & left it for 3 hours. This is lockdown, so time at home is plentiful! I don't have a hair dryer so didn't try that. Smells like wheatgrass, or hay. Doesn't stain your skin or bathroom. Didn't flake off (I suspect the towel around it helped). Remember to save the gloves, since you'll probably get 2 applications from this. Bonus: the gloves are a decent size, not the tiddly ones I usually have to try & squeeze my hands into. Only pesky part was washing it out - it took a while, and I ended up doing it twice. I used a bit of conditioner the second time. My greys seem fine (prob 95% covered, I don't get total coverage from 'normal' dyes either) & my hair is becoming softer & thicker as the day progresses, somehow. Apparently the colour develops over the next 4-5 days, but I'm already pleased with the colour.

Best wine red colour henna I've bought. The colour also lasts longer than others I've tried and notice that when i was my hair, the water is less red than when ive used other products which is great! Do feel that there could be more powder in the pack as I have medium-thin just below shoulder lengrh hair and I need about 1.5 -2 packs to do my hair. Will still give 5 stars though as the product itself is great!

I didn't really like applying it and I hated the smell. It didn't work for me.

I tried using this at first with wet hair but it didn't change the colour. The next time I tried it (mixed with a brown henna) I tried it on unwashed hair. It is virtually impossible to do on your own. It smells, mixed with hot water a bit like ancient dung according to my boyfriend who had the thankless task of painting it on my hair (very fine and very long) within 15 mins with my haranguing him to hurry up. Make sure you add enough water to make the mixture fairly runny or it can dry and thicken up and be even harder to apply. The effect is lovely, particularly in sunlight. Henna doesn't damage the cortex of your hair, in fact it conditions it. One word of warning however it takes a long, long time to wash out and four washes in, the water of my rinse is still yellow.

I found this brown colour didn’t cover my greys even though I left it on for over 2 hours as per instructions. I don’t know if I was to re-wet it as it did dry but as much I liked to use this as you can use how much you like & save the rest, plus it’s easy to apply (simply add water to make paste), it didn’t work on my very stubborn greys. It does say on the instructions to reapply after 24 hours but that’s just tedious. It is natural & doesn’t have that chemical feel you get from commercial dyes but sadly it didn’t work for me!

This was the second color I bought, cover the gray hair very well, the gray hair area gets a little lighter than the rest but looks good, this one gave me the red I wanted , it’s a bit of work to apply but it’s all worth it, the only problem I am having is the herb smell that does not go away

On sent la bonne odeur de plantes à la préparation. ​-Couverture des cheveux blancs : Elle remplit parfaitement son rôle pour harmoniser la chevelure en transparence. ​🔴 Mes petits conseils pour l'application : ​-Prendre son temps : Comme toutes les colorations végétales, le secret réside dans l'application et le temps de pose (comptez 1h à 2h sous une charlotte pour garder la chaleur). ​-Le protocole idéal : Pour maximiser les bienfaits et la brillance, j'applique une huile capillaire nourrissante (moringa ou brocolis) sur les pointes les jours qui suivent le soin. Le temps que les pigments s'oxydent naturellement à l'air libre et développent leur couleur, ne pas faire de shampoing pendant 48h. ​En résumé : Une coloration végétale d'une qualité rare, fabriquée avec soin. Le cuir chevelu respire, les cheveux sont sublimés et la couleur est superbe. Je recommande sans hésiter pour une transition capillaire réussie ! I was told by a hairdresser don’t use henna it will make your hair horrible I’m glad I didn’t listen to that hairdresser my hair has never looked better and the Radico henna hasn’t got any nasty chemicals in it. I’m so happy with the Radico brand and it’s natural.

I am 45 years old and have minimally processed medium brown hair. When my grey hairs began to become too many that I started to require dying my roots, my hair started falling out and my scalp became damaged. I did extensive research to try to find the least harsh and most natural option to dye my hair. I ended up using a less hairs ammonia free hair dyes available which used coconut oil (now I realize that it was likely a bunch of marketing) by Clariol called Natural Instinct. Keep in mind I had tried all the other known dyes like Wella, Swatrzkoff, etc. they all destroyed my hair (hair also became so dry) and my scalp. Even though I used this for 4 years, it still wasn’t a great option. My scalp although it was better was still destroyed and hair was dry and burnt and falling out a lot. Keep in mind I do not use a lot of products and use minimal heat (just blow drying once every couple weeks) and take really good care of my hair. So I then tried henna. Beside the fact that it didn’t work well, it was so complicated and time consuming. I tried henna several times. Just turned my greys light red/orange. Fast forward to this miracle of a product! This product worked great, it was simple to use and in just 2 treatments my scalp is 65% better because it nourishes your scalp. I will continue to use this and do believe that it will likely improve the dryness of my hair and my scalp which will then keep my hair from falling and make my hair thicker over time. I left it on for 2.5 hours the first treatment and then 3 hours the second. I did do the blow dryer for 2 minutes about 3 times during each treatment. The second treatment worked better because I applied color more generously. Also I did to 2 treatments within the 48 hours as suggested because it was my first time using it. I highly recommend this product.
