Review: Helpful and includes diverse characters - The instructions were clear and helpful for beginners and advanced artists. As someone whoโs been drawing for 10 years, itโs hard to find a stylized art book that has new tools for improvement; yet this book was very helpful in understanding simplifying the body into forms. They include characters of many differing body types that tend to be difficult to find in these types of art books. This book is almost very helpful for example of good line weight and value scales. Review: Great drawing, great artist - Good advice for drawing characters. Nice samples of various ways to get to the characters you want to draw. Examples of male and female characters drawn. Enjoying the book, now I have to practice.

Good for using as reference and details.
Not only is a great book but it also provides some interesting material for you, it also gives ideas for references to draw your own characters such as their poses, clothing, face and many other things. Iโm happy to have such a great book.

Not fully what I expected
So I mainly got this to support the artist, I love their work! If you like his art then get it! But a couple of things 1: I expected a bit more than what we got. From what I can tell there's 10 QR codes, tbh they should have been placed better because I thought there were originally only 2 because all the others are placed closer to the spine. That's just a nitpick but they should have been placed better. He doesn't talk about his process or anything, they are speedpaints, I personally don't think of them as tutorials. When I hear tutorial I think about some form of text or speech in a video talking about some of the process. 2: I was expecting a bit more......text? There's over 100 pages but there's only 4 pages dedicated to tips. Besides those 2 things it's your basic how to draw that shows about 5 pics of the process from rough to finished. Great for anyone who likes and enjoys Alex's art and wants to support him! Now only if this came in hardback! ๐ญ

Perfection
I am absolutely in love with this book! It's everything I wanted out of it and more! The information is thoughtful, kind, and informative, all in one! I highly recommend purchasing one for yourself, regardless of your skill level as an artist!

Very good for character design and reference, might not be the best for people just learning art.
As someone who placed a pre-order WAYYY back when (around last year for context), I am VERY pleased with it. All of the characters and designs are so creative and fun and just nice to look at. However, if you're a person at the very beginning of your art journey, this book might not be the "How to Draw Anime Step-by-Step" tutorial book you're looking for.

Want a step up in drawing anime figures buy this book
My grandaughter absolutely loved this book. I've noticed she is carrying it in her school backpack and it seems to be the reference book she keeps with her art stuff at home. A 100% find.

Few actual lessons
I generally like this book! It's a great collection of references with nice character designs and a few really good pointers. I'm also just happy to support Alex, as his free YouTube videos have already been great guides over the years. Still, I had to remove two stars because of the following reasons: - There is very little text and very few explanations. Maybe that's the style of the series, I don't know, it's my first book from it, but four pages of text is just not a lot when looking at the over 100 pages that follow. I'd have appreciated a few "how to" pointers and some lines here and there about the decision-making process regarding the showcased designs, considering learning how to design compelling characters is the main focus of the book. - The video "tutorials" were honestly disappointing to me. They'd have been an opportunity to balance out the lack of explanation given in the actual book, but instead of a more in depth look with voiceover, they're silent speedpaints. If something is advertised as a "tutorial", I expect it to teach something. The author's YouTube channel has tons of readily accessible speedpaints where he actually talks about his progress, in comparison, the ones from the book are way less helpful. To sum things up, I don't regret my purchase, but I feel like there were wasted opportunities to make it a valuable asset. If Alex publishes another book in the future that goes more in a "how to" direction, I'd happily give it another shot.

Great book recommend it ๐๐๐ป (with two small critiques)
The book came in a good condition and feels of good quality ๐๐ปiโm very excited to see what kind of stuff was in the book and as someone who has been drawing for sometime and watching the writers YouTube channel I hope to learn something from it my only critiques are from a first glance that I had hoped to see was maybe a little more information in the book about the drawing process beside the basics (for instance why you make certain decisions while drawing โwhy would a line of action be useful?โ ) and I had hoped that the videos from the QR codes had a little more information about the drawing process instead of just a timelapse but I do think itโs helpful for beginner and intermediate artists and Iโm very excited to start learning and drawing โบ๏ธ

Helpful!
For someone whoโs drawn since I was literally a baby lol but 14 professionally (now 22) itโs so helpful to be reminded how anatomy works and itโs a good study book so I recommend it for both beginners and professionals!
