The charcoal tray doesn't look like it slides out to get rid of the charcoal ? That's the only downside to this grill?

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry but you are right the charcoal tray will not slide. The best way to get rid of the ash is tilting the grill. We will pass it to the manufactory to see if we can have a better design. Thanks again!
