We use this white titanium dioxide pigment for concrete projects here in Eastern North Carolina, and it does an excellent job of lightening the finished color. A little carefully measured pigment gave our concrete a cleaner, brighter appearance and made the completed pieces look much more polished and professional. The powder blended well when mixed thoroughly with the dry ingredients before adding water. It is especially useful for making concrete candle holders, decorative jars, planters, trays, stepping stones, ornaments, and other molded projects. It can also be combined with other concrete pigments to create softer pastel shades instead of the darker colors normally produced by gray cement. Do not expect ordinary gray concrete to instantly become snow white with one spoonful—the original cement color still matters. For the brightest result, use white cement, carefully measure the pigment, and maintain the same pigment-to-concrete and water ratios for every batch. Pro Tip: Wear a suitable dust mask and gloves, weigh the pigment instead of guessing, and thoroughly blend it into the dry cement before adding water. After the project has cured, apply an appropriate concrete sealer to help protect the lighter finish from moisture and stains. At first, I thought the pigment was too light in color. However, after mixing it with wet grout, it darkened and turned out perfect for my project. It seems the more you use the darker it gets.

Easy to use, comes out black not grayish

Product came packaged in bag in a foil bag. No instructions but I figured it out with some Google help. It worked perfectly (turning white thinset into a nice dark brown). Will buy again when it's time for more repairs (this is setting stone into a waterfall + pond). One five pound bag of pigment was plenty/enough for a 50 lb bag of fortified thin set. Be careful, this stuff will dye anything it touches (clothes, gloves, tools, concrete floor, stone).

Okay there’s a little bit of a learning curve, so start with a small amount adding into your white grout. It’s very messy so be prepared or you’ll be wearing it and washing it off your piece forever …like me 🤭
