WD Blue SN580 1TB NVMe SSD
“मैंने कई SSDs इस्तेमाल किए हैं, लेकिन Western Digital WD Blue SN580 1TB NVMe SSD performance के मामले में next level निकला। इसकी PCIe Gen 4 speed की वजह से boot time lightning fast हो गया और file transfer कुछ seconds में complete हो जाता है. Gaming, video editing aur heavy software usage ke liye ye SSD bahut smooth experience deta hai. 1TB storage capacity kaafi enough hai aur WD ki reliability alag hi level ki hai. Heating issue bahut kam hai aur installation bhi simple tha. Price ke हिसाब से ye SSD market me best options me se ek hai. Super fast, durable aur 100% value for money — 5/5 stars! 🔥 Highly Recommended.”

Great Performance, but Understand Your System’s Limitations
I recently upgraded my old HP i3 7th gen laptop (which comes with HDD) with the WD SN580 500GB NVMe SSD, and overall, I’m very pleased with the performance boost it delivered. Here’s my detailed experience:Performance & Speed:After installing the SN580, I ran benchmarks using CrystalDiskMark. The results showed a sequential read speed of about 3500 MB/s and a sequential write speed of around 3200 MB/s. Initially, I was a bit disappointed since the product description touts up to 4000 MB/s read and 3600 MB/s write speeds. However, I soon discovered that my laptop’s M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0, which naturally limits the maximum throughput. In my case, these speeds are near the top end for a Gen 3 interface, so the SSD is performing exactly as expected under my system’s constraints.Build & Compatibility:The SN580 is an M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD, which fits perfectly in my laptop. The installation was straightforward (I'd my screw already placed by HP), and it’s clear that Western Digital has built a reliable product with excellent durability and a 5-year warranty.Real-World Impact:Since installing the SN580, my system (Windows) boot times have dropped dramatically—from 4-8 minutes to just around 25-30 seconds! (Come on it's hugeee !! Since my processor is i3) Applications/softwares load quickly, and everyday tasks are noticeably smoother. No heating problems so far. The performance boost has made my laptop feel brand new frr.Final Thoughts:If you’re upgrading a system with a PCIe Gen 3 interface, don’t be alarmed if you don’t hit the absolute maximum advertised speeds. The WD SN580 still offers a tremendous improvement over SATA SSDs and is a great value for the price (I bought it in ₹3049). Just be aware of your system’s limitations: in a Gen 3 environment, the speeds I experienced (3500 MB/s read and 3200 MB/s write) are essentially the best you can get, (it'll reach it's advertised speed on a gen4 environment)Overall, I highly recommend this drive for anyone looking to significantly boost their laptop’s performance. To increase overall performance of my old processor, I only focused on upgrading RAM like others but soon I realised it's upto a limit, If you truly want your system to run on it's maximum potential, just upgrade your SSD from SATA to NVMe + your RAM). Enjoy the lightning-fast responsiveness.I hope this review helps others understand what to expect based on their system’s capabilities!

Good SSD, BUT check BIOS and Motherboard first!
Received it on 9th dec 2024, so far used for like 11 hours. The SSD seems good and to be working fine with x570 chipset motherboard from Asus. So far no complaints about the speed or anything.I wish they had listed the compatible motherboards or chipsets or anything before someone buys it, I had to update BIOS to make this work on my motherboard which took some time.My motherboard is PCEi Gen 4 and supports the M.2 drives to 64GB/s, no idea why it required BIOS update, thought it was plug in play. That is why there is one less star. Also no screws or standoffs were provided.I'll update the review after using it for a while.

Under 4K this is the best you can get. But today high pricing didn't worth it for this product

Average performance, poor endurance
Unlike the previous SN570, this has lower endurance ratings, so the 'higher' speed is moot. For most consumer situations this should not matter. The rated speed are at the lowest end of PCIe 4.0 spec.Presently using with a X40 motherboard which is limited to PCIe 3.0, so I'm unable to test the full drive speed. As in previous iterations, you still get a single NAND chip and the controller, so the heat emission is negligible. If the price is right it's a good choice, but there are significantly better drives at only slightly higher prices.

Be aware ...
I struggled with this for a few months before I finally talked to my daughter's tech friend. Turns out Windows 11 didn't recognize the fact that the SSD needed an update to make it compatible. I've had no problems since that issue was resolved. I've used Western Digital drives for over 20 years and this is the first issue I've had with one of their products.

Brings New Life to a 10-Year-Old Computer with Very, Very Fast Speed
Western Digital Blue SN580 NVMe SSD 1TB ReviewI have a 10-year-old computer running Windows 10. The system drive has been upgraded from a mechanical hard drive to a Crucial MX500 SATA SSD. This really increased the boot-up speed and functioning of the computer. For the computer I was installing the SN580 NVMe SSD into, I had to purchase a M.2 NVMe PCI-E adapter because my 10-year-old computer does not have a M.2 slot. It does have an available PCI Express x16 (Gen 2.0) slot. The adapter I bought is backward compatible to Gen2.0.The NVMe SSD can only be used as a secondary drive in the computer I was installing it in because the computer’s BIOS will not boot from PCI-E. If the computer’s BIOS could boot from PCI-E I would have cloned the SATA SSD and made the NVMe SSD the system drive.INSTALLATION1) After connecting the NVMe to your computer (remember, typically, the card is inserted into the slot at an angle and then gently pressed down and secured with a screw).2) Power on the computer and go to Disk Management (Click the Microsoft logo in the lower left of the screen and type “Disk Management”.)3) A dialog box will ask you to initialize the drive. Do so.4) Locate the new SSD in the disk drive section. In the Unallocated section, right click and format the drive. After it’s complete, close Disk Management window and you’re new SSD should be ready to use.RESULTSIn my situation, I connected the WD SN580 to the computer’s PCI-E X16 slot using an adapter. I was blown away at the read/write speeds compared to the Crucial MX500 SATA SSD (being used as the System drive). The NVMe SSD, using PCI-E adapter, had tremendous speed. For comparison, here are the CrystalDiskMark results for the two drives installed in the computer:Read WriteCrucial MX500 SATA SSD: 285.1. 267.6WD Blue SN580 NVMe: 3,533.3 3,395.5Although not exactly a fair comparison because the two drives use different technologies, upgrading to an NVMe SSD in my situation was the right choice.FINAL THOUGHTSInstallation was straightforward. The Western Digital SN580 NVMe 1TB SSD performed extremely well and has a very good price point. Also, Western Digital, at the company’s website, provides Acronis cloning software free of charge and no registration is required. I recommend this product.
