9 Speed Bike Chain

My winter bike sees a lot of salt and water which reduces life of chains exponentially. Name brand chains (SRAM for example) have gone through the roof lately so I decided to try something else. It installs like any chain would and seems to be working well once adjusted properly. I'll see how long it lasts but would happily order again.

As others have noted, the master link won't close. I applied as much pressure as I could, and still nothing. You'd think the most critical part of a bike chain would undergo proper quality control, but they couldn't even be bothered to do that. I ended up having to reuse my old chain's master link. Because of this, I actually don't trust the whole chain at all, and am going to replace it ASAP with a Shimano chain.

This chain fits good and works well. Specifically it fits the sprocket configuration of nine speeds on the rear cassette and three on the front. It has a light coating of oil. The price is great!

Seemed like the metal was too hard or brittle. I snapped a link in the first week. Partly my fault but I've made the same shifting mistake with other chains and they didn't break.

My 26" 9-spd bike has a 38 tooth front sprocket & my 1st gear rear sprocket has 36 teeth. This chain is too short to shift onto my 1st gear sprocket. I've received 3 different bike chains claiming to fit my bike, one even claimed to have 118 links fully assembled like my bike's chain but apparently some suppliers count the connectors (only one of which can be used at a time) as links in their specs ("new math" they make up as they go). Find a picture & count the links. And if the one delivered is shorter, return it ASAP for inaccurate product description or this "new math" BS will continue.

Purchased this chain during a rebuild. New cables, new jockey wheels. Sonic cleaned all parts. Assembled bike back together with new chain and could not get rear shifts to be consistent. Adjusted and adjusted to no avail. Lets check new chain with chain wear gauge. This new unused chain was worse than the one i took off. Put on a Shimano chain and a couple of cable adjustments , 2 minuets later shifting was set and perfect. Learned a lesson on this one

I too had a problem with the master link. Would not click in. Fortunately I had some others. Have not ridden with it yet so we will see today!
