I own a few of these now, having mounted small shotguns (Rode Micro, for example) on both GoPros and DJi Action cams. It is just the right height to lift the mic out of view from the camera's wide angle. Usually thumb-tight is enough to keep it secure but you have the added bonus of that hole on the 'nut', allowing you to tighten further by levering with an Allen key or small screw-driver. I batter my action cams in a salt water environment but these are well made and will last.

The DJI Mic 2 receiver has no way to grip a good shoe, so this is perfect.

The media could not be loaded. Ordered two of these as a hot shoe protector for my cameras as I’m always taking accessories on and off. One is brilliant, exactly what I need, but one has been assembled poorly and the screw that holds the top part to the bottom part is stripped. Returned it for a replacement.

I regularly use either a wired microphone or a wireless system with my camera which has a cage fitted to it. There are often times when I need to keep the camera's hot shoe available and I much prefer to mount bulkier accessories onto my camera's cage. These NEEWER cold shoe mount adaptors are supplied as a pack of two with an instruction sheet.The microphone receivers I use will not fit directly onto the cold shoe mounts on my cage meaning that I need an adaptor of this type to enable me to do so. These adaptors are a very good fit onto my cage and I especially like that they have two spring pins to prevent the accessory being used from slipping from the adaptor if the the camera moved or tilted. The locking rings which secure these adaptors in place are knurled to provide good purchase when tightening by hand and they also have holes around their circumference to provide an additional leverage point if some additional tightening is needed.The adaptors I received are very well made with a good quality finish and are ideal for the task I am using them for. Overall I am very pleased with them and confident to recommend.

This product is one that is a must if you are a videographer on the move.For £16 you can ensure that you lav mics stay firmly attached to your camera which is a great investment given your mics are probably worth over 10x as much.I used the rode video mics with this product and found them to secure them well, making it difficult to slide the mics off but not impossible. Here's the downside, in trying to shift my mic I ended up scratching the plastic logo off with the metal having dragged across the letters, deforming them.I would love for others to learn a lesson from my actions, that being, be careful when using the item and only remove the mics gently - else you might lose your logo text!

I am a fan of neewer, have been for a while. I have a handful of products from them and have always been happy, however not this time. I wanted a fixed replacement to replace the plastic cover on the hotshoe mount of my Sony a7iv. As I use a Rode wireless go, taking the little bit of plastic out of the hot shoe was always a pain, then having to put it back when the mics were not attached. Always in fear of loosing the little bit of plastic. I wanted something I could always keep on the camera, that would act as a seal and allow me to connect my mics. However, they do not fit into the hot shoe mount on the camera, they are too thick. I have pushed hard, in fact harder than I wanted. They do slide in say 90% but not as far as they should, then they were very very very difficult to slide out. They do fit and work if fitted to a cage or a "L" bracket perfect. But not on the camera as the photo suggests.
