My son has used this since he was a year old (he is now 5). Before this, he used the gelmix. It is easy to use, tasteless, goes down smooth. We use it to thicken flavored water for him because thickening regular water doesn't taste good. It gets clumpy sometimes but nothing too bad. We love it. We do wish an HSA or Medicaid could pay for it. But we love this product.

No le encantó a mi toddler, sí cambia el sabor del agua, sabe cómo harinosa y después de unas horas lo espeso se va y queda una consistencia líquida/viscosa extraña.

I’ve had to use this since my son switched from breast milk & formula to lactose free milk and other liquids. It works great! And the only thing he’s actually approved of using due to his swallow studies and doctors orders. This has kept my child from aspirating due to dysphasia and larynogomalacia. It mixes well most of the time- you have to shake it very well. Sometimes it will clump in certain liquids. If I give my son water I add a tiny drop of juice - it tends to thicken better without many clumps. I noticed some of the other comments—and as regards to measuring- per doctors orders I know that my son is to have 1 scoop per 6 ounces. I couldn’t imagine giving this to my child without doctors orders. It doesn’t mix well in formula because gelmix is what you use in formula or breast milk not the pure a thick. My son doesn’t notice any difference because this is all he knows. If the milk clumps up- cause it happens sometimes- he won’t drink it. And that’s how I know that one didn’t mix well and I make another. It’s a hit and miss sometimes. But I have no choice but to use this brand and this specific item- again due to doctors orders. For juices diluted with water- I’ve come to realize that I need closer to 7oz because it thickens more than the lactose milk at 6oz. This does not mix well with regular milk that I have noticed- had to mix with regular milk diluted one time- did not mix well AT ALL. but with the lactose milk it mixes much better. I have tried frothing but my son doesn’t like the foam. So I just shake up. As for cold items- it’s best to sit for a few mins after shaking- it decreases chances of clumping. Warm or room temp liquids thicken quicker.
