Very useful piece of kit
Having had a reflector telescope for a few months now I decided that a Collimator would be a useful aid in insuring that the instrument was probably set up. Having purchased items from SVBony before I decided to go to them for this model. The collimator arrived well packed and with basic instructions as to how to use, however there are many videos on Utube showing this procedure and would recommend watching some of them as it makes understanding the set up much easier. The collimator felt well made and proved straightforward to use in fine tuning my telescope, overall a good tool and well priced for the quality. I am happy to recommend this product.

Does the job out of the box
Does the job for me. Helps me get a quick collimation on my 10” Newtonian every time. Didn’t need to collimate the laser either, perfect out of the box

Collimator not collimated out of the box.
I'm waiting to hear from the seller before I come to a final conclusion, but sadly the collimator itself was out of collimation when I received it. When using it in my Newtonian, after adjusting the secondary mirror to place the laser in the middle of the primary mirror centre spot, rotating the collimator in the eyepiece would move the laser out of position again. I took it out and found that if you point the laser at a wall and rotate it the laser traces a small circle, meaning the laser itself is not centered. (UPDATE) The seller was extremely quick to respond to try to resolve my issues. We came to a hassle free reoslution in the end. While the item was faulty on receipt, what matters more to me is that the problem was dealt with promptly and without drama.

much simpler to use then a cheshire.
I initially purchased a Cheshire Collimator £37 to ensure my reflector mirrors on a skywatcher 200p were aligned/collimated properly. However, it was a wee bit difficult to use and gauge whether the collimation was successfull or not. As i'd never done anything like this before, I spent close to an hour adjusting the various screws, going back to the view finder and trying to make sure the I could see the 3 mirror clips as per the instructions in the telescope user manual, but I could never get to that point. I was eventually very frustrated and decided to return that and purchase this one instead. (I will upload images of what I did soon) I first checked as per guides by other users to make sure the collimator was collimated. This was a breeze and I found no issues there.. so thumbs up there. Next, I inserted the collimator in the focuser and to my surprise the collimation wasn't too bad (maybe I could've stuck with the cheshire, but I couldn't confirm it). The secondary alignment was a little bit out and so was the primary. Using the sybony was a walk in the park. It took me approximately 5-10mins to collimate the telescope. I first aligned the seconday mirror so I could see the red dot in the centre black circle on the primary mirror and then I aligned the primary mirror to ensure the red dot was in the centre of the sybony reticule. note: The process of collimating the secondary and primary I had to do twice as once i got the primary back in alignment the secondary was then out of alignment. A litle adjustment on the secondary and then the primary and all was done. I re-checked the next day again and checked against a star. All good.

well constructed BUT.........
First impressions........ The collimator came well packaged and when I removed it from the box, it looked very well made and sturdy and I was impressed with the product. BUT......... when I inserted the collimator, the red dot on the main mirror was off to one side. I turned the collimator around in the collar and the red dot did a complete orbit of the main mirror centre mark keeping a perfect distance of about 40mm from the centre. So I checked the alignment by repeating the above in a v block and sure enough, it was out so the collimator needs collimating (but you cannot adjust this collimators setting). So, unfortunately well made but not a well collimated collimator!. I had to return the item and ask for a refund. (Please note that I believe my review was of the previous version and it appears they have updated there product recently 01/07/19).

A useful, but flawed device.
Affordable, but arrived out of colimation itself, so would not have been much good straight out of the box. I had to look up a video on how to collimate these things, and it is not as straightforward as it could be. The 3 adjusting screws to centre the laser are covered by a warning label and silicone, which had to be pickled out of the holes first. You also need to fashion a simple jig to sit the device on and a very small Allen key. I found it a bit of a faff, but now it is set up properly, it is so much easier to collimate my telescope. Edit: The people at Svbony read my review and offered me a full refund immediately. I refused as the collimator works fine now. Instead, they have reported the issue to the manufacturer and offered me a discount on my next purchase. What great customer service!

Easy and quick collimation.
Comes already collimated itself, easier and faster to use than a collimation cap. There are 7 brightness levels useful for collimating in various light levels. The brightest is very bright - so be careful not to look down at the primary to see if the beam is centred until you are absolutely certain it isn't missing the secondary (wave your hand in front of the telescope or use a piece of paper).

Worked out of the box (fortunately)
After reading the other reviews, I was wondering if I would have to adjust the colliminator, but fortunately it worked straight out of the box. The instructions are a bit limited in the box, as they do not explain what the numbers on the base do. It was only after adjusting my mirror that I found out the the numbers give a bigger scatter which can be used once the mirror is correct to get a reading on the angled markings.
