I've lived too long without these socks
*** TO CLARIFY, I BOUGHT XL HOPING THEY'D PULL TO MY PATELLA. JUST ORDERED ANOTHER SET! NOT ORDERING THE SAME IN WHITE. NOPE... WHAT A DIFFERENCE OF ??MATERIAL?? PULLED UP ONLY TO MID-CALF, AND STARTED SLIPPING, THEN BUNCHING AT ANKLE. BEFORE I NOTICED, VASCULITIS KICKED IN LIKE CRAZY ON ONE FOOT. GOING TO THE TRASH BIN. ~~~~ (original review) FINALLY! "Knee-high" socks fit over my calves AND stay up! People, you just don't know... I have ordered at least a full $300 dollars worth of socks in the past few years. I spent good money to find a good fit, anklets through every size, all types of fabrics. Most of these socks bunched at the ankles, causing severe swelling, clearly forming a bulge from the top part of the sock. Hard to explain. The charity shop was happy to receive many of them, some still unopened since I'd buy another or more packets. These "knee-highs" are a lifesaver, maybe literally. I'm not kidding. My legs have not had ANY swelling since I've been wearing these for about 2 weeks - ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! I bought three pair. Not even a minute of regret. I do understand the 4.5 rating. I very much see how easy it is to pull too hard when putting them on. Maybe it was my thumbnail, but did see a seam loosen (no hole) so being very careful, since then.

Comfortable!
These socks are very comfortable. They are very soft and do a great job of wicking moisture away from your skin. They stay up well while not putting so much pressure on your lower legs and ankles that they leave marks. They do everything a great gym sock should while looking like a fine dress sock.

These socks are great!
Helps keep my feet cool and dry. I am a 5'2" female who weighs 180 lbs. These socks stay up without binding.

A bit tighter than they used to be, even when compared to an unworn pair from the last order
I have been ordering and wearing these for several years, and I keep going back for more. They fit well and didn't dig into my legs, etc. Unfortunately, the latest batch does not fit my non-diabetic but overly wide feet as well as previous orders. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or if something has changed in manufacturing, but these are definitely a bit less wide than they used to be. I can barely squeeze into these, where an unworn/new pair from a previous bag fits perfectly. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try one more bag, but if those are tight, I'm going to have to find a new brand. Again.

Socks that are REALLY stretchy in the in the girth direction! LOVE these!
**Updating one year layer: These are the ONLY socks my son wears. He calls them his soft socks. I hope they never stop making these, but I'm buying extra pairs to keep in reserve. They've held up great. After a year there are no holes, no worn areas; I just machine wash and dry them. From 11/22: My teenage son has fairly wide feet & big calves, and he's REALLY particular about how his clothes fit and feel. Finding socks he likes has been a particular challenge - most are too tight on his legs, and some are too tight to even pull over his feet without a struggle. I often help him, and I also have a harder time than I should - he has pretty wide feet and many of the usual crew sock brands are just poor quality. Often the legs barely stretch in the girth direction, and if they do stretch, they don't rebound well. He has mild autism and a sensory processing disorder; he's bothered more than most by any clothes that feel stiff or have a tight fit. He also really hates the feel of zippers. I've been looking for socks he can easily pull on himself, and wear comfortably all day. We've tried many brands; at this point has a drawer full of socks he refuses to wear. Well, he loves these! FINALLY, soft, well-fitting socks socks that are easy to put on, and don't feel at all tight on his legs (the ribbed leg section isn't baggy, just VERY stretchy in the girth direction). They seem really well constructed; I hope they last reasonably well. A version with nylon-reinforced toes & heels could be a nice option if they're looking to expand their product line :)

Only drawback to buying/finding: being called "diabetic socks"!!!
These are PERFECT! I bought some socks at Walmart a few years ago, loved them, so bought some more. Got some burn holes on them, etc. (stuff that's my fault), so I wanted to buy more, but there were no more. I thought: "Well, I'll try later." Nope--EVERY time by Walmart, none. We have over 3 Walmarts in our area, and I've even looked while out of town in other areas, but none. So finally I looked at Walmart online, thinking that I could find exactly the same ones--after all, that would show absolutely everything they sell, everywhere, right? Wrong! It's like they never existed! Maybe they were too good, or last too long (I walk through the house extensively in them, which normally wears out thick athletic socks much more quickly. (I buy from Amazon all the time and love it, but I like to feel the socks, stretch to feel the tension on legs, etc. before buying...in other words, I want to buy these hands-on.) After extensive (very extensive) searching, I bought these and also a set of Dickies ["Dickies Men's Dri-tech Moisture Control Crew Socks Multipack, Grey/Blue/Brown (6 Pairs)", which appeared to be exactly what I wanted, reading MANY reviews]. These "diabetic socks" are absolutely PERFECT! The Dickies socks are not--they are tight as the Dickens on my legs. Understand, I have really skinny legs between my large calves and little ankles, and I NEVER buy socks (yuk) that would go over my calves. I've never considered "diabetic socks" because I'm not diabetic. Nor am I on any medication, and am in excellent health, and athletic. I am retirement age, but for decades, I've hated socks that tightly squeeze my skinny lower legs (they were less skinny 10-20 years ago). My suggestion to the company: sell them as is, but ALSO rename/brand the same product WITHOUT the "diabetic sock" name/description (causing non-diabetics to avoid them). Instead say something like: "The most comfortable sock...while NOT tight on leg, stretches very easily to gently accommodate profoundly varying leg widths, all while perfectly staying up and not sliding down."

Update: Get your repair kit ready
Just amazing socks - even more comfortable than the Bamboo socks I ordered from Amazon, and without the 'dents' in my leg from a tight squeeze. The comfort really must be felt to be believed. Like thick silk with just a touch of cotton. Update: 2024 (I don't even remember writing that review above, sort of like - here's some filler to get you started in your review, edit to your preference - etc) These have been falling apart since a few months after I got them, just never bothered to update. Bothering now. 90% of the socks I ordered are literally falling apart - huge holes ever where. I have no earthly idea why more people aren't coming forward. Maybe it is because the socks really are comfy - if you don't mind feeling the inside of your shoe on your skin with part of your feet after a few months.

Excellent
I've been wearing them for a year, and they have retained all the good things about socks. They are super comfortable and they don't slip down.

Not diabetic, not loose cuff, wrong size, must pay shipping to return.
Socks are not "Ultra Loose" - they have a standard type of cuff, which does not expand much and would be far too tight for my legs even if it were the right size. The website said that "Large" would fit men's 11-13. What arrived, marked "large" looks like a child's sock, far too small to fit my size 10.5 feet. The vendor approved a return, but I would have to pay shipping to China, which would cost more than the amount of a return refund. That said, the material of the sock is very nice, soft and, if real Coolmax, would be a comfortable short sock (not crew height) if in the right size for someone not needing a diabetic sock.

I keep receiving the wrong socks
I love these socks but the seller keeps sending me the wrong ones. If you look at the pictures i added, the nice comfortable ones that are loose on the ankle, ( which is why i purchased them) are the one pair in the pics that you see alone. Today i received really tight ones with a logo on the top. I have contacted the seller and i am awaiting a response, other than that, these are very comfortable socks. All I want is to receive the right socks. I dont understand how i can re-order the exact same item and receive different socks. Itโs a lot of work to return.

These are women's thin socks
I was very surprised when I received these. I thought they were supposed to be men's diabetic knitted sport style socks in black, similar to the grey ones I'd purchased earlier for my husband. However, to my surprise they were women's thin casual black socks and look nothing like the photo above when you put them on. I kept them and gave them a good rating because they are extremely comfortable, breathable, and perfect for my feet.

Comfortable...
Best fitting diabetes socks that I have tried, and I have tried many. They are super soft and comfortable. But pull them up once in a while. They will roll down on you occasionally, leaving a deep mark on the leg where the roll sits...similar to most diabetes socks. The ones that never roll down are the ones that fit too tight on the calf to begin with.
