30QT Organic Vermiculite Granules for Plants and Gardening

I've been using this stuff for growing mushrooms for years. Excellent quality and a very reasonable price.

This is the best vermiculite I have ever used since it is a darker color than others I have tried. It is also a small size and the darker color is much more attractive since it blends in better with the color of the soil

the packaging was not good. it comes in a box that arrived damaged at two corners. Then unfortunately I opened the box where it was most damaged and happened to cut the BOTTOM of the box. There is no indication that there is a TOP and a BOTTOM. I then pulled the bag in the box thinking it would lift everything out of the box... but NOPE!! the bag came out by itself, leaving the vermiculite in the BOX. Apparently the top of the bag (which is now at the bottom of my box) was not tied, so the bag when pulled from its bottom came out by itself! As for the product. It works for me. the vermiculite granules are smaller than is advertised in the pics but I'm ok with it.

I'm giving this product a 4 Stars because of its delivery. It's delivered in a clear and very thin loose bag that's not secured in the actual generic brown box. I don't mix my Vermiculite directly into my dirt mix. I add it gradually as I need it. It should be held in a resealable bag or one that at least has the name on the bag.

I wasn’t expecting vermiculite to be SO GORGEOUS!! It looks like fools gold or something. And this box is FULL! I’ve already covered almost all the plants, seedlings, etc in my house and I have barely made a dent. It’s no where near as dusty as perlite and they’re pretty small pieces. I finally gave in and bought some after a 2 month long battle with fungus gnats (on my 4th soil treatment with mosquito bits) and I’m hoping that with that and now a top layer of vermiculite it will finally get rid of these little buggers!!! Also got it to hopefully stop damping off since my seedling success rate has only been like 10%. So I’m basically covering all the soil in my house lol. It sucks cause I like seeing the soil so I can see if it’s dry and watch any new sprouts coming up and just keep an eye on them but with how beautiful this vermiculite is, it definitely is a worthy trade off!!!
