Works perfectly turns grill into a smoker. Husband loves this product. Ceramic is strong and holds heat well. Meats come out perfect every time.

I've found that in colder weather this system really works well. Less fuel consumed, and because you don't need a really large bank of coals temps are easier to dial in. The grates need to be elevated an inch or two to accommodate the ceramic deflector. Thin metal clips are provided that slip over the kettle's original support tabs and boost grate position the required amount. These clips are the weak point of the system. Prone to slipping off the kettle tabs and falling below the fire basket. Not the strongest attachment to the kettle's tabs either, the grate shimmies and shakes.

It definitely holds the heat well in my old smokey. I need some time to tune and play with my vents to figure out how to hold 225-250 but I'm certain this product is up to the task.

My BGE needed some adjusting so I put it on the shelf until I figured out how to fix it. I have a Weber grill and I was so use to using my BGE, I decided to give this a try to use as a substitute. To my surprise I was able to smoke and cook pretty much like I cook and smoke on my Egg. It was a little getting use to, but I did ribs, chicken and a roast while my egg was down....and did not miss a beat. Now to be clear, this is great as a back up, but it is just that a back up, hey what can I say I'm an Egg Head at heart. If you are like me, needed a substitute while your Kamado grill is down or you want to test Kamado grill cooking but don't want to shell out the money, this is a good alternative.

Got this approx 10 months ago. Worked great. Really made my Weber into a Big Green Egg for a fraction of the price. However, we dipped below zero (which rarely happens in Northwest Arkansas) and the diffuser split in half. Contacted customer service. No questions. No problem. A replacement was sent. So happy with the product and the outstanding customer service!

I was always concerned with my weber that it was losing heat so much and I would be burning too much charcoal just to keep my long cooks from burning up too quickly. I was also looking at kamados and the cost was simply too high for me to buy. This firebox saved my wallet and really improved my low and slow cooks. Briskets, chuck roast, and ribs all cooked low and slow and I love this ceramic addition. I do lay down tin foil on the deflector plate to keep it clean during my cooks. I actually did a brisket and (2) chuck roasts already since I got it and they came out amazing!
