Best hoover I have ever owned!!!
This is by far the best hoover I’ve ever owned! I was a die hard dyson fan until biting the bullet and buying this. I will admit I was hesitant after reading certain reviews but was swayed by the price in the end as it was a complete bargain at £165! I would happily pay full price for it now knowing how good it is. It’s quiet, very light and easy to manouvre, the lights are amazing for spotting crumbs and dust you would usually miss. I’m struggling to understand how so many people are saying the suction is TOO strong and it’s pulling up their carpet? The suction is completely adjustable! For carpet, hard floor AND the hose attachment. You can adjust the suction as low or as strong as required by the easy slide bar on the handle. I have thick fluffy pile carpet in half of my home and have had no problems whatsoever. Very simple to empty the container and I love the access to the floor roller brush to effortlessly clear any long hair / string that has become tangled. I thought my carpets were spotless before buying this as I hoover almost every day but the amount of dust and fluff it picks up is shocking, especially on the first use! 🙈 I have 2 dogs, one short haired and one long haired, and it’s fantastic for both types of pet hair! I absolutely recommend this hoover, if your on the fence just go for it! You won’t be disappointed.

Great value and does a good job
Chose this vac after a lot of research as I wanted one that wasn't too heavy, would clean carpets well, be easy to use and would clean under furniture. I decided on a corded model as I don't think battery life and power is where it needs to be yet, and I wanted an upright not a cylinder. Lots of different models out there some at very high prices but having read lots of reviews I decided on this more economical model. It's well made and was easy to assemble. Having read several reviews saying that new owners were embarrassed about how much dirt their new vac lifted out of their carpets I was a bit sceptical to say the least but.....having just vac'd my carpets and rugs I have to say that I reckon this machine pulled about 10 times as much dirt out as my old Dyson ever did! One of my two minor complaints is that the dust cup could be a bit bigger as I had to empty the unit many times (too embarrassed to say how many times!) although hopefully subsequent cleans won't be so dramatic. The other complaint is that although the cleaning "foot" is shallow enough to reach a little way under low furniture, I can't clean under the beds properly as the dust cup gets in the way. I guess I can use the lift-away feature instead. One great feature is the adjustable suction - easy to set at the right level for carpets or for rugs. Also I like the ease with which you can switch from standard upright to lift away to using the nozzle, and the simple switch to move between carpets to hard floors. All in all very pleased with my purchase - a good machine at a fair price, and a five year guarantee too.

Six stars out of five...it’s THAT good!
Pros- Excellent suction with an easy variable twist function to alter the power of suction for different types of carpet and floors. It’s a very powerful motor compared to my previous vacuum from a ‘big name’ seller. The myriad ways you can disconnect and connect different parts to the Hoover for reaching higher up places or the lift-away handheld feature to clean the car or stairs easier. The cable is a decent length so had no need to keep unplugging for different areas. I prefer corded to cordless as can’t be bothered with the hassle of having to charge it up for hours and only getting 20-30 mins usage. Yes the wire can trail around you and get in the way but I’ve always felt that corded seem more powerful on suction, tho everyone will have a different opinion on this for practicality and mobility reasons among others. So easy to unclip the bin and empty out when full. No dust clouds either so no longer need to go to the outside bin to empty it. The filters are easy to access and clean too. Various good value attachments available to buy for different usage requirements such as the car kit attachments if you’re super anal about your car and true-pet brushes for those of us with cats and dogs that molt heavily. Cons- That I hesitated and waited so long to buy one in the first place, having put up with various other companies vacuums that didn’t impress for one reason or another. In my opinion they simply can’t touch this for the powerful suction, multi-use feature set and lift away tech that makes hoovering the house, stairs and car less of a chore and more of a hobby haha! I’m truly a Shark convert now and the added free 5 year guarantee gives you true peace of mind. Very good value for money indeed.

FANTASTIC Must Buy Vacuum! - Powerful, multi-function and perfect cleaner.
Having owned a Hoover (cordless) vacuum cleaner that cost almost £100, I was very dismayed after a few months as the performance was absolute rubbish, it was easier picking bits up off the floor by hand. Then, I saw this Shark lift-away upright vacuum cleaner on Amazon at a really good price - £169.00, which to be frank, is a really good price to pay for a good vacuum cleaner. Unpacking the vacuum was very easy, I didn't even need to refer to the user manual to set it up. What can I say? I absolutely love it and I have only vacuumed around one square foot of my hallway carpet and just look at the attached images to see just how much dirt it lifted - despite my already going around with my 'useless' cordless Hoover! It looks really good, very sturdy, well made and it really is powerful. I found it hard to push initially as it almost sucked my hallway carpet up and the natural pile of the carpet has suddenly resurfaced, making it look like new again. I seriously am not joking, if this vacuum was rubbish, I would not hesitate to say so but it is brilliant, I can't believe I even dithered for a second prior to purchasing it. Just look at the dust and debris it lifted from a small part of my hallway carpet, it's quite embarrassing, perhaps not to me but Hoover, who I am afraid in this case are the weakest link. It comes with an upholstery tool and another 2 in 1 hard to get to tool to make cleaning your entire home EASY! Whether it is carpet, hard floor, curtains, under furniture or those hard to get to crevices, this Shark has real BITE! Filters only need washing once every three months but I would recommend emptying the dust after every use to keep it in prime condition and working order. I, hand on heart highly recommend this vacuum and as an added bonus, if you register it within 28 days of purchase you receive a 12 month warranty plus an additional extended warranty of 4 years that will cover you from the date of purchase making it guaranteed for FIVE years. Now that really is what I call peace of mind - plus it is made in the UK, so purchasing this product benefits the UK economy too. Additional tools can be purchased for those with pets to clean away excess hair that ordinary vacuuming might miss. Impressed is definitely an understatement. If you want a good clean, it's got to be a SHARK! One thing - I almost had a coronary trying to vacuum, it is REALLY powerful, my carpets look like new, unlike me! Go on! you'll love it and it's guaranteed for 5 years!

Quiet with great suction but...
My new Shark hoover just arrived and I've used it for the first time. It looks pretty good as hoovers go and its very quiet. Putting it together was easy (didn't even look at the instructions) and performs fairly well. It's got some suction on it. I first went over my small hall carpet which I had just done with my old Argos cheapy (which was actually a really good hoover but old) and was shocked at how much dust came out of it. See the attached pic. I did the rest of my flat but then noticed there was a red light showing when I attempted to do my rug. I had to grab the instructions then to find out what the red light means. The roller bar thingy was blocked apparently so I took a look and it all seemed fine. I worked out that the suction was too powerful for the thick rug so I turned down the suction strength and it was fine. My headline says "Quiet with great suction but..." and the but is because when I pushed the hoover up to a skirting board it doesn't seem to pick anything up for the last inch or so which seems a pretty big failing. I had to get the attachment to do round the edges. There may be a reasonable explanation for it but as far as I'm concerned the hoover should pick up dirt all the way to the edge. It's not so much of a pain that I would send it back. Most of my skirting boards are hidden behind furniture anyway but if I had very large rooms I may think twice about keeping it. All in all it seems pretty good, its very quiet and has good suction.

Best vacuum on the market - get one!
I ran a cleaning agency for years - a lot of people preferred their own vacuums to be used so I got to use a vast array of makes and models. I purchased a German brand with amazing suction, long cord, and easy to use hose attachment. It made housework so much easier. It broke when we moved home (someone dropped it out of the lorry) and had been very expensive. After a few days I asked my husband to pick up a cleaner when he was off to the retail park - so it's my own fault really - and he bought a £30 cylinder from B&Q! Needless to say after weeks of battling to clean one rug (we don't have any carpets yet) of dog hair I couldn't take any more. The Shark was the 'deal of the day' so I bought it without researching our reading reviews - that usually ends badly for me - and it arrived the next day. WOW! Oh my days! I've never seen anything like it, just one pass through the centre of the rug and it was completely hair free - I have 10 white dogs - the suction was amazing, I had a new rug again. I tried the lift away for the stairs, the easy to change carpet to hard floor setting and back to having a light after years of Dysons. It's just so easy to manoeuvre, so powerful, so light and super easy to empty. I've just read some reviews on here saying the suction was poor - well you either have a faulty machine or you haven't put it together correctly, because I have literally used over 50 makes and models of vacuum and this outstrips ANYTHING in my experience!

I wish I had bought this long ago!
So I've waited 3 months to write this review. I'm literally going to be very detailed so skip over if you want a brief overview. I cannot lift heavy items due to a condition which means I can dislocate very easily. This has caused me to purchase 4 vacuum cleaners in as many years. Dyson, vax, Henry... Corded, cordless, you name it. I found battery ones lacked power and definitely not suitable to do a house clean in a house with 2 adults, 4 kids, 2 parrots and a dark haired mutt in a house with cream carpets. It was giving me panic attacks seeing the mess! My corded upright vax was heavy, bulky and difficult to manoeuvre. This, my OH said, is brilliant suction. I couldn't use it. Especially on stairs. We live in a town house. It didn't work for me. I was using a small battery handheld vax for the stairs, upright for floors and a carpet sweeper for a quick clean. This was first used after taking Xmas Dec's down. The upright had been over it before.. Woah. Its got up so much in normal carpet mode I couldn't believe 12 hours beforehand it had been vacuumed! The suction and brush bar literally pulls itself along taking a heck of a lot of pressure off my shoulders pulling it back and forth. This swivel head for getting around furniture was something that made it even easier to use. The dust bucket appears small, but is compacts so well. It is so simple to take the nozzle off and use the hose, especially for dusting which is a lifesaver with parrots! The dusting attachment is great, either as a short length or with the extended handle. I can get those pesky Corner ceiling cobwebs so easily! Just a simple button to lift it away rather than bending down and unplug and reattach with a loss of suction. The suction is very good. So good it has got rid of the pesky marks under the door where carpets lift and the upright never caught. Onto the Lift-Away. So, SO easy to do. One Button. I know people have commented that it topples. It can, but I use it to help me stand on the stairs. It supports me as I give my return staircases a clean. I lift it and clean the stairs as I go, then return for the lower brush bar so I can continue to vacuum the rooms upstairs. It makes it easier to do rather than lifting the whole thing in one go. It isn't particularly light as a full unit but it really has made it so much easier. It feels like I do have two vacuums in one and the suction is amazing, even compared to a Dyson without the pesky filters. They are so easy to clean. Another bonus.. I have two long pile rugs. They are great for hiding dirt, but also they are bad.... for hiding dirt! Most vacuum cleaners cannot use a brush bar over these rugs.... With suction (easily placed on the handle) opened up, THE BRUSH BAR GOES OVER! This made me happier than I actually want to admit as it makes me sound super sad! My kids bedroom rug is no longer a hidden land of debris that has to be released into the wilds of the garden after a good shake every so often! Yippee! So, yes, I love this vacuum. Only negative, slightly annoying but not really a negative, I would like the cord to be slightly longer. But let's face it, there are plugs in every room. It's long enough to plug into a hallway and do each room from there and reaches the stairs. All in all, I now have a cleaner house and less pain from doing so.

Awesome! Best Vacuum I’ve Had So Far!
Great vacuum, you won’t be disappointed. PROS -Great suction! -There pretty good side suction when running it along skirting boards for example. -Brush mode works amazing on carpets, ours have never been cleaner and we’ve been through various Vax and Dyson vacuums over the years. -Lift away is neat and very convenient. -All the bits click together well - the hose, attachment, waste bin, filter etc etc - very well engineered and easy to get to all parts, really easy to clean and de-fuzz the brush head. -Front lights are actually really useful, especially on hardfloors. -Stairs/brush (we purchased separately) is so good, an essential for stairs/sofas/beds etc. -Great value for money compared to Dyson CONS -Overall not lightweight, but for the power and suction level, I understand it can’t be that light. I am referring to normal mode. The lift away mode is much lighter of course. -The hose could have been a bit longer - but I prob should only use the hose when I using it in lift away mode. -Bit bulky to get under lower tables and chairs in ‘normal’ mode. Just means I have to bust out the hose a bit more and move the kitchen chairs. This is a normal ‘issue’ with an upright of course. -Wish the t-shaped attachment was a bit wider. Note - The attachment connections seem universal eg just a hose tube, I could prob get a third party attachment that will simply slip on where a branded one doesn’t exist. Just contrasting to Dyson that has specific connector method. So overall not any cons that should stop you buying this. If you’re not fussed about being cordless and want a real powerhouse vacuum, you can’t go wrong with the performance and price value of this one!
