Useful for hard of hearing and elderly
High quality phone . Very good for anyone who is hard of hearing and easy to alter volume for both ringing and speaking and listening to whoever calls. The keys are large and clear which is useful .

Amazing for what we needed.
Needed a phone that was easy to use and had a loud ringer as well as a boost to make quiet calls louder. An this does everything just he careful not to press the boost button by accident when you're on phone and don't need it. My ears were ringing for a fair whole after 😂

Fantastic phone for the hard of hearing!
Bought this for a 91 year old who needs an amplifier on her phone due to being extremely deaf even with hearing aids. She'd previously been using an old BT one (almost 30yrs old!) with amplifier. This phone is fantastic - not only does it have a very good amplifier but there's also a volume switch to increase the sound further. At the moment she only uses the volume to number 3 and it goes up to 9 so there's further capacity for if/when her hearing deteriorates further. She's been using the phone for a month now and I'm pleased to say it's working fantastically well. The phone isn't cheap but when you calculate the cost of trying cheaper ones (and possibly failing) it works out good value for money. Would wholeheartedly recommend it!!!

TERRIBLE PHONE, SO BAD I THREW IT IN THE DUSTBIN
I have excellent hearing but struggled to hear even with the handset volume turned to full. So I turned on the loudspeaker. That made the voices harsh and distorted. This is supposed to be for old folks yet the instructions are inadequate to navigate the tiresome menus. Ok, I don't like it so I'll give it away. No, can't do that. Because I had added my dad to the speed dial and it proved impossible to edit or delete the entry. It's there forever so if he changed his number hard luck. More importantly, I could not give the phone away with my dad's number stuck in it. He's 92 and I couldn't risk him getting unwanted calls. So I put the phone in a plastic bag and smashed it to pieces with a club hammer. I then threw my £64 in the dustbin.

Good phone is great for the hard of hearing
Bought for my elderly mother who is a little hard of hearing and this Phome is ideal for her there’s a volume for the hand set or for those who are more hard of hearing there is the button for a pounder db sound the only downside is if you purchase the phone with protect your bubble then it might come with a nightmare as you may not get the standard email with your paperwork cover and trying to get this from amazon customer service via on line chat becomes the hamster on a wheel as that’s what ya feel like going round and round and still ending no where

Very good for the hard of hearing/
I waited a good while before writing a review to make sure the phone kept performing, and it has. My mother, a country woman in her late 70s, uses a hearing aid in one ear. When her 'good' ear failed as well, she was cut off from her friends as she was unable to use the phone. A technophobe, stuck in her ways, been using the same BT phone since 1977, I feared she would never get the hang of a new one. I was wrong. She absolutely loves the hands free on her Doro, since she can hear it clearly through her hearing aid. I haven't seen her using it conventionally since I taught her how to use it over a month ago. A great phone, easy to use and a real assett to my very hard of hearing mother. She is no longer isolated on the many days that she doesn't go out.

Useful product
Now my dad is 93, he still has all his marbles but seems to be getting a bit deaf. He is OK in normal conversations but was struggling on the phone. Since he chooses to still live at home, he relies on the phone for regular contact with his three children. I bought this for him and tested it out myself. My dad and I are both ex-telephone maintenance engineers, so we know a bit about phones. This Doro product meets his requirements very well. The large display shows the calling number. It also shows the date and time. The phone has a compartment for 4 x AA batteries which maintain the clock and LCD display during power failure. The phone works fully without batteries so long as the mains power supply is connected. It has a hands-free mode which has a volume control. The handset has a volume control and a +60dB boost button. The handset volume control works when the +60dB boost is turned on. The +60dB boost does not work in the hands-free mode, but doesn't need to. The ringer has three settings (off/medium/loud) and the phone has lights in the corners which illuminate when it rings. The only negative point is that there is noticeable hiss on the audio, from the amplifier, but this doesn't matter too much. I wouldn't call it a high quality product but overall it seems fit for purpose.

First time in years that my mother can hear properly on a phone
My mother is very hard of hearing and has struggled for years with every phone we have bought even when on loud speaker but this phone has had a massive change on her life. She can hear every single conversation without asking you to repeat yourself. She no longer has to worry when on an important call thinking she may not hear everything they say. You do have To have a little fiddle with dials for levels of sound at the beginning to get it at the level you need but once you have done that it has been marvellous. Best phone I have ever bought for a person who can’t hear very well at all. Worth every penny.
