It remembers. Your last temperature setting and will keep it unless you change it.

Kettle sits loosely on base, rocks back and forth when empty, and rattles if you're working on the same counter. Is this normal?

Yes, I have been using my kettle for about a month now and it does have a slight wobble when the kettle is sitting on its base plate, but the wobble is not extensive and I don’t view it as a defect or a problem. My unit works as advertised and I am pleased with my purchase.

Is there any plastic or coatings inside the kettle, spout or lid?

Hello, Ashley with Greater Goods Customer Service! There is a tiny heating coil at the bottom of the kettle. It is covered by a food-grade silicone gasket so that water doesn't get down to the heating mechanism.

How low can the temperature be set? I only want the water to be “finger hot” at 150 degrees F.
