Power Scrub XL+ Carpet Washer, SpinScrub Technology, Large Capacity Tank, Quick Drying, For Carpet & Hard Floors (CDCW-PSME)

I bought the Power scrub XL but Amazon delivered a Faulty piece. The front scrub brushes attached with machine were not spinning they way it should as described. I checked it by re-assembling it but it didnt work whereas the hand scrub brush accessory of the machine was working and the brushes were spinning perfectly. Had to return it. Also very noisy.

Not cleaning old stains despite of repeated wash

Excellent product and it really does the job

We are extremely pleased with the new Hoover PowerScrub XL Pet carpet cleaner. We initially purchased a similar model named the same way at Wal-Mart. However, the Wal-Mart model (ending in 01) was not the same model as this one (ending in 02). They look identical with similar features, but they were not. The Wal-Mart model does not have a separate solution bottle, the extra attachment for the hose or the bag for the hose and tools. The Wal-Mart model was about $40 cheaper, but not worth the difference for the features and additional attachments and storage bag. I did notice this until I put it together and was a deal breaker. I ordered it online and returned the unit to the store for full credit the next day without any hassle from Wal-Mart. We have an older rug in one our bedrooms that was very soiled from years of use and had a lot of stains. We thought we would have to replace the rug. Since this was a good quality rug, we decided to buy this rug cleaner to see if we could clean it. We just used it and it worked GREAT. After several passes, it took out most of the stains and now the rug is acceptable. We will go back and use the scrub rush tomorrow to get the stubborn stains out. After looking at numerous reviews, we chose the Hoover PowerScrub for the features it had as follows: 1) Separate Solution Bottle 2) Removeable rotating scrub brush for cleaning or can be replaced 3) Large water tanks for clean and dirty water (no leaks like many have complained about) 4) Does not use as much water as Bissel units 5) Wider than most other models 6) Light weight & easy push and pull 7) Nice accessories with hose and scrub brushes & storage bag 8) Powerful 10 amp motor (other cleaners have 6-7 amp motors) 9) Separate trigger to release solution (Hoover PowerWash is automatic and you cannot control release of solution) 10) Reasonable price & great reviews We couldn't be happier with the choice we made and hope this Hoover Carpet Cleaner will hold up for years of use.

I AM NOT INTO LEAVING FEED BACKS BUT THIS TIME I HAPPILY DO SO. I DREADED REPLACING OUR APPR. 25 YEAR OLD HOVER CARPET CLEANER BECAUSE THESE DAYS COMPANIES ARE BUILDING SUCH GARBAGE. MY NEW MAYTAG WASHER IS A PIECE OF JUNK AND THE SERVICE IS A BAD AS IT CAN GET :O( THE SAME WITH THE LAST SHARK UPRIGHT CARPET CLEANER, USED TO BE AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. I REPLACED WITH A HOOVER UPRIGHT AND AM QUIET HAPPY WITH IT. THANK YOU TO THE HOOVER COMPANY FOR EVEN IMPROVING ON WHAT WAS ALREADY AN EXCELLENT CARPET CLEANER. THIS NEW ONE IS SLEEKER, JUST AS POWERFUL, EASIER TO EMPTY, THE DIRTY TANK POP UP IS EASY TO HEAR WHEN THE TANK IS FULL, THE CORD IS LONG, ALL GOOD! HERE IS A PIECE OF ADVICE FOR YOU. AFTER WORKED WITH MANY CARPET CLEANERS OVER THE YEARS, SOME HOUSEHOLD, SOME INDUSTRIAL, AS I AM A RETIRED PROFESSIONAL HEAD HOUSE KEEPER IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY, I CAN TELL YOU THAT HEAVY IS GOOD. THE HEAVIER THE MACHINE, THE DRIER TO CARPET. THE WEIGHT IS NEEDED WHEN REMOVING THE MOISTURE. THIS NEW MACHINE IS A BIT LIGHTER IN WEIGHT COMPARED TO MY OLD ONE, HOWEVER, THERE IS A LITTLE TRICK. BEFORE YOU START TO RINSE YOUR CARPET WITH CLEAN WATER, DON'T EMPTY THE BOTTOM (DIRTY WATER) TANK BUT LEAVE IT HALF FULL. THIS WILL ADD WEIGHT TO THE BOTTOM PART OF THE MACHINE WHICH IN TURN WILL GET MORE WATER/MOISTURE OUT OF THE CARPET WHICH SHOULD BE ALMOST DRY TO THE TOUCH. MOVE THE MACHINE OVER THE CARPET AS SLOW AS YOU CAN, THE SLOWER THE BETTER AS IT GIVES THE MACHINE THE EXTRA TIME TO REMOVE MOISTURE. WATCH THE TOP OF THE LOWER TANK FOR THE POINT WHEN NO WATER IS MOVING THROUGH. THE MACHINE LEFT MY CARPETS AS GOOD AS DRY JUST LIKE MY OLD ONE DID, BUT I DID HAVE TO GO BACK AND FORTH A BIT SLOWER THAT BEFORE AS THIS NEW MACHINE IS A BIT LIGHTER AND AS I SAID, LEAVE WATER IN THE BOTTOM TANK FOR WEIGHT. OUR HOUSE IS 80 % CARPET OR AREA RUGS SO i JUST FINISHED OUR LARGE LIVING ROOM AND THE DINING ROOM AREA RUG. AMAZING IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! DID NOT NEED A BOOKLET TO GET STARTED :O), THE TANKS POP IN EASILY, ALSO, WHEN THE TOP ONE WITH THE CLEAN WATER WAS EMPTY, THE BOTTOM ONE WAS FULL AT THE SAME TIME. HANDY! CARPETS LOOK LIKE NEW!!! THE CLEANUP WAS FAST TOO AS THE TANKS ARE SMOOTH INSIDE, NOT A LOT OF NOOKS AND GRANNIES FOR STUFF TO SETTLE IN. ANOTHER GREAT IMPROVEMENT IS THAT THE NOZZLE PART POPS OUT EASILY FOR RINSING, VERY NICE! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE CLEANING FORMULA, YOU CAN ALSO FILL THE LITTLE TANK WITH WATER INSTEAD AND ADD THE FORMULA TO THE FRESH WATER TANK DIRECTLY. FOR RINSING THE CARPET JUST FILL THE LARGE WATER TANK WITH FRESH CLEAN WATER. I USE A COMMERCIAL CARPET CLEANER AND ADD IT TO THE HOT WATER TANK FOREGOING THE LITTLE FORMULA TANK. THIS WAY I CAN CHOOSE MORE FOR DIRTIER CARPETS AND LESS FOR CLEANER CARPETS. LASTLY, I DID NOTICE THAT FOR SOME REASON WITH THIS MACHINE I DID NOT NEED THE 'DEFOAMER' WHICH I HAD TO ADD TO THE BOTTOM DIRTY WATER TANK WITH THE OLD MACHINE. BECAUSE OF THE FOAM I HAD TO EMPTY THE TANK SO OFTEN OR ELSE USE A SHOT OF DEFOAMER. NOW I DON'T HAVE TO ANY LONGER. I AM HAPPY, HOPE IT LASTS AS LONG AS THE OLD ONE :O)
