I was surprised at the solidness of it. The hinge was good and it was very nice. The painting wasn’t perfect and the stones were less expensive glass but it was all around very nice and I was glad to give it as a gift.

I love the way this egg looks, but there are imperfections that spoil it for me. The top half doesn't quite meet the bottom half on one side and the division of top and bottom are on a slight slant. I didn't send it back because the cost of returning wouldn't be worth it. I gave to a friend who really liked it and didn't mind the flaws. I guess I'm just picky; but to me, an egg is supposed to look like an egg, not two separate pieces.

Well, what a surprise, the egg is much larger than expected. It is very, very pretty, the enamel work is exquisitely done, one shade of enamel is not slopped over another over the gold edging, it looks as though whomever did the work paid close attention to the work. I originally bought it for a gift for my sister, but I wouldn't place any bets on her every getting it! I think I'll keep it and add to my quite large ornamental egg collection! PS: I did buy another, this one for my niece, she's been great in helping my sister move to a residence and she's always been a wonderful hostess to me, so it's about time I showed some appreciation! My sister still didn't get one, maybe for her birthday in May!

Bought as a gift for my mother in law as it is decorated with her birthstone. I am having a hard time not keeping it for myself! It arrived 3 weeks early and well wrapped for shipping, beautifully decorated, it has a nice weight to it and the feet stand it up evenly when the lid is closed. It comes in a nice gift box and I simply cant wait to see her face when she opens it on her birthday.
