Do you get more of a thuddy or stingy sensation with this crop?

Of course the "feel" of any impact instrument can be controlled by the individual administering. For the most part the resulting sensation is "sting"! In the hands of my husband the sensations vary as he wishes. For fun the wood handle can pack a wallop which is definitely more "thuddy". I find this instrument an excellent warm up device and a perfect precursor to my husbands leather belt. I hope this helps.

Is made with real leather? Some reviews say that it's a fake leather. I'll return it if it isn't leather.

It feels and smells like the same leather of all my crops I get from the farm supply stores. The dye job and the backing may be whats throwing people off but it has yet to crack or peel with constant use for me like pleather pieces do fairly quickly. Still in pristine condition for me. Leather quality comes in all varieties. I haven't seen anything that says it is not leather.

is it long enough to disipline myself ?

It’s long enough to slap it against your back if that’s what you’re asking. As far as spanking yourself you could probably do it just won’t be as comfortable a motion. You can always see if there are others out there that are longer on the belt part would make it easier as well.
