This expensive survival box is just less than 1/4" larger than an Altoid mint tin (in L, W, H for small size). In crush resistance it is substantially stronger. The small size is only marginally useful as a cooking/digging tool. The velcro fastener is functional and may allow attachment of additional items (e.g. flat knife, mirror). Because of a spongey rim inside the lid I would classify it as water-proof for short dunks.
