I use this daily to crush pills to put in my senior cat's food. Works well.

It was not easy to use because it’s small, but cute enough to keep. I use it to grind up aquarium fish/shrimp food. It didn’t crush well unless I use the handle part as the grinder.

Such a fun little gadget! Perfect for peppercorns, dried rosemary or fennel, or use with already powdered-flake spices to meld together. I was going to buy a large mortar & pestle, but this is PERFECT! Small & compact, easy to store in a cupboard or drawer, as it doesn't take up a lot of space OR leave it on the counter as it is cute...looks like a little 'flying saucer'! It grinds the spices nicely. As you slide & grind it back and forth, the spices crush & blend great! Very easy to clean with soap & water, has not taken on a stain or smell of the spices. Highly Recommend!

This is a pretty basic item, and it was without careful consideration that I purchased this. It's an imperfect piece of pottery that's great if you a) don't mind its tiny stature; b) are okay with having to spend more time reloading it with all it's spit out while using it; c) can live with the unknown lead content of the unglazed inner mortar/pestle surface; and c) don't need the two pieces to be precise compliments of each other. The two pieces are cut from one original one; it's been a minute since I've made something like this, but it is so hard to get them to perfectly mate after finishing. The pestle is not flush with the mortar, thus the grinding is Skippy and requires doing over the bits that inevitably shoot out while using. And it's so small that grinding any quantity of spices or herbs is time consuming. It is adorable, though.

Great value and solid pieces for small amounts of grinding. I use it as my pigment grinder before adding the liquid. Good sized, functional and the shape is good for getting in the crevices. makes mixing paint a lot simpler and less wasteful.

Love the design ... but ... the inside is porous. If you are crushing pills it is difficult to get all of it removed, so you lose part of the pill in the container. I love the design, if it were glazed on the inside like the outside, I would rate 5 stars plus. It is basically useless for my needs.

I bought two of these mushroom top grinders and this one is absolutely PERFECT for small batches.

Lo compré pensando en hacer molidos finos de especias y definitivamente no funciona. Se mancha y no se siente muy resiste. Pero eso un bonito detalle para tener en la mesa y disponer de pimienta quebrada o sal de mar más fina.

I didn't realise how small it was. Saw one on a Nigel Slater programme, liked the look and thought, 'Yes, I'll have one'. Placed the order, thinking I would get something similar for the price. How disappointing. Might be able to crush a couple of peppercorns.

I use it for pulverizing pills and it works perfectly. Love the size and look as well.
