Very Happy With Reel
Received in only couple days to my door. Nice. Well boxed and protected. Took out and admired as how nice this reel is. Immediately mounted on my older Silstar "Limit" 7ft rod after receiving. Spooled on some 30# braided line then used some large rubber O-rings as casting bait. Found out quickly to turn down that spool clutch knob to keep spool from free spinning so much and then untangle the line. Yep, just like the old baitcasters I remember, but not as fancy. Now, let's try this again. Once I got the knob dialed in, the reel worked flawless. The 6.6:1 ratio in my opinion is perfect for the larger fish as it lets the reel have more torque to fight the fish. One thing I did do after mounting reel onto the rod is I took a couple long, strong Zip Ties and wrapped around the rod seat and reel mount for better security, in case the reel/rod holding screw loosened up from usage. Seen some older videos of users of this model reel saying the "clicker" isn't very audible. I'll say the company must of heard ya, as the clicker on this reel is quite loud and I also like the counter-balance on the handle. Gives your thumb a rest spot and also lets your thumb give that extra bit of more handle torque if needed. Overall, I'm quite impressed by this reel, from its color, 9 bearings to make things smooth, to how stout it seems to be made. I'm not a professional fisherman, but I like good equipment without the high costs of purchase, so I hope this reel lasts as long as some of the reels I have and use.

Very Good Reel
I fish a lot. My whole life. Used to fish the tour. Own several boats, too many reels to count. Fished exclusively Penn (and a couple Newell) on saltwater and Shimano on fresh for last 30 years. Took this thing down to Cedros to see how one of these Chinese reels would hold up. I ended up fishing it the entire time. Casts better (not a single overrun), drag is better, and the ergonomics are better than any low-profile reel I own—many of which cost 4-5X this. Threw surface irons, top water, rip baits, yo-yo— whatever. Caught 20+ yellowtail on this up to 40lbs and countless Calico. 50lb braid 6:1 gears. This reel never missed a beat. Took South and caught wahoo and dogtooth on jigs with it, smooth drag for all runs, no heat. Good for pelagics up to 50+lbs. I can fish any reel I want- I now own 4 of these. One of my local captains is also fishing them now. If they fall apart within a year I’ll update. Their base is a little odd and didn’t fit one of my reel seats (it was a bit too wide) so check and make sure it fits the rod you want to fish it on.

Excellent product
The Alijoz 400 is a very smooth, and strong performing baitcaster for big catfish. I will be buying another soon, and I bought the Chaos XS as well. Looking forward to fishing for my next trophy fish with both these reels.

high price but is it high end
I find this reel nice overall, but the drag comes on very suddenly within 4 clicks. When loose, the first two turns basically doesn't change anything. I would be nice if they were able to give us a more gradual progression of drag. As the star wheel has comfortable shape to push, you do feel the drag tightening up through the star, which is a good thing. But if you like to use light tackle, your line might break because the drag is very strong and sudden. It holds a lot of braided line and has clicker. Although I have casted it, I can also use it for trolling because of the clicker. The price is getting up there and it is debatable to go Shimano or not. Shimano only use 4 bearings, the secrets of bearings is Shimano have precise manufacturing, which makes all parts fit together and spin without friction.. they are nice and very salt water resistant, but I don't know about Piscifun long term. Update: I've been using this for trolling, landed over 10 fish now and it is holding up well. This reel does not unwind left and right like a trolling reel, but the line goes out well it does not matter. With the clicker makes it more useful for trolling. The drag is pretty easy to use. I dropped it in lake water once, so far still works like new.

Very Impressed
Purchased this reel for catfish. I purchased a KastKing Capstan Elite 300 last year that I was so impressed with for the price. My only wish was that they release one in a 400 size to hold more line. Amazon had a sale on this Alijoz 400 recently and I figured it was worth a shot. I was casting 9 Oz weights and huge baits with the brakes turned out to basically zero with no issues two nights in a row. While the largest fish I’ve landed with this reel may have only gone 20 pounds, I think it will handle 50 without issue. I am blown away at the quality of these new low cost reels. Made in China? Yeah. But guess where the $100-150 Shimano’s are made. Dollar for dollar Piscifun and Kastking are taking care of their customers with high quality equipment at affordable prices compared to the same from the big names. I’ll probably be replacing all of my 6500’s with these low profile high capacity reels next year. I add $60 in bearings to 6500’s out of the box to get the casting distance of these reels with no modifications at all. Not to mention, they’re so much more comfortable to use. I have not torn one of these reels down to clean yet. That’s a biggie for me. We will see. If I can’t tear down and reassemble without YouTube I might change my mind. I will be trying other Pisifun reels for crappie as well. Very impressed.

Pretty awsome Reel
I saw some reviews that were pretty sketchy. Made me wonder if I bought the right reel until I actually used it on my vacation here in the Bahamas. It works pretty Dan Awsome. I put line on it the night before I left and wasn't feeling to great about that but I had no choice my line didn't get to me until that evening. I put it on and just went fishing here in Bahamas and am very pleased with this purchase. The people that had bad reviews must not know how to setup the reel. I have had some backlashes but nothing that bad. And it casts a freaking mile !!!!!! I have even been casting in some pretty high wind conditions and it handles it pretty well.

Got the replacement work a lot better. But the new one I oreder does the same
I really like it but after a few cast an pulls from the bottom the retrieval started to feel heavy. it was definitely not retrieving 42 inches per turn I had an Abu Garcia with a 30 inch line retrieval rate an it was coming up a lot faster. an the thumb bar wouldn’t always completely disengage so it would make a grinding cracking noise so I had to return it an no I did not get any help from the seller so I have to wait for my refund but aside from that I still ordered another hoping it was just that one that was bad. Fingers crossed 🤞 hope it’s not junk got the new one a works like a charm . Ok so I go one sent by the seller it works, but I oreder the 6:6:1 purple violet one an it spools the line to the right I’ve reach out to piscifun but haven’t feedback from them

Good value for the price, good quality
Works extremely well, as good as any higher end units that I own. Quality is excellent and they cast and retrieve smoothly.

Don’t overthink it and just buy it.
Feels just as premium as my ProRex and performs just as well, but for less than half the price. Great big fish reel at entry level pricing. Probably going to pick up a backup or two.

Great reel, better price.
I was very sceptical when buying this for musky fishing and wasn’t sure if it would hold up to casting and trolling heavy baits. So far it has done very well in comparison to reels 3-4x more expensive. They are not quite as smooth as the more expensive and at the time of purchase only the 8:1 gear ratio was available which is not ideal but for the price has not let me down.
