Love this!
I had some old tapes converted to digital and this device makes it easy to watch them in tv. It doesn’t come win an HDMI cord though so be sure to order one.

this one is a joke
A media player without fast forward and rewind function is unacceptable.

Disappointed that this 'Upgrade' to Previous Version is Lacking in Ability to Play Lengthy MKV files
Some time ago I purchased the previous version of this media player - what I liked about it was that it was a hard drive enclosure that would serve as a media player when I traveled. Simply connected to TV via HDMI and a 5v USB power supply and I could view all my video that had been ripped from disk to my drive using MakeMKV. Worked great. Then I saw this upgrade - what appealed to me was the newer video processor which should be able to decode faster than the older unit. Initial testing looked great - my videos were stutter free! So I took it with me on holiday to watch video in the evenings. Then, about 35 minutes into my movie, the sound became de-synced from the video and the video then 'froze'. The time stamp went to a negative value and the rest of the movie was unplayable. Figuring it was a corrupted file, I tested my other MKV movies - same thing. After repeated back/forth with the MyPin customer service agent (a good experience! - just not the result I was looking for), they confirmed that this iteration of their media player could not play my MKV files due to changes in the hardware. In the end, they did refund my purchase. And this does work fine for my MP4 files that Handbrake re-coded from my MKV files - but I have way too many to recode everything. So just a 'heads-up': nice compact unit for MP4 and short MKV files. Oh, and others have mentioned a problem with FF and rewind: you simply have to hold the 'down' arrow key for a second or so and then you can use the left/right buttons or choose the time point you want to move to. Not at all intuitive - the older remote that they used on previous generations was much better. The customer service guy suggested that I get their 4K player that was not also a HD caddy (ASIN B097RGNS3W) which has a KODI player embedded in it. He said it would play the MKV files to completion. So I'm back to using the previous generation of this item for my holiday viewings. Just beware that this might not be the device you are looking for!

supports sata ssd drive, HDMI output , supports many media formats ..
My second unit purchased . Apparently this is second generation . 1st gen had controls on unit and remote. This unit , remote is dominant control . Both units have some difficulty using USB as host ....Intermittent recognition (Windows 11) ? Font size on instructions could be larger little more detailed .

Pay digital on tv
Way to play movies and digital files on tv. Supports common formats. Easy to set up. Even works with older tv.
