308181004 Line Trimmer Fuel Tank for Homelite Ryobi 308123004 UT-20006

I have several vintage Ryobi BC30 string trimmers that were really starting to show their age. One consistent issue that came with age and usage was leaking gas caps. The OEM caps were fitted with a fiber gasket that eventually deteriorates, dries out and fails. I've spent too much time cutting new gaskets from bulk cork gasket material, a tedious and frustrating job to get the right fit just right. I had found replacement fuel caps on line, but at prices I felt were unjustified. Then, while searching for a reasonably priced fuel cap, these replacement fuel tanks popped up. Price was very reasonable and the reviews were generally good so I thought I would give them a try. The tanks arrived on time and well packaged. I cleaned up the old BC30, removed the crankcase cover / tank retainer and tried one on for size. I was impressed with the fit. They seem to be just a fraction larger than the original tanks which actually compensated nicely for the old compressed rubber isolation mounts. Plenty of supply and return fuel line included to trim to length and the line had a nice secure leak free fit on the carburetor fuel nipples. Although the fuel caps are of a completely different design than the originals, they fit securely, are equipped with a synthetic rubber gasket and are retained when removed by an integral tether. All in all, a quality product at a great price. Now the old machines are ready for a few more seasons with a new fuel tank, cap, flexible leak free fuel lines and an included fuel filter. Not bad, not bad at all! Although the crankcase cover gaskets are difficult to find (part number 900954001) they can be cut by hand out of bulk gasket material of the appropriate thickness.

Fit great and my leaf blower fired right up. The old tank leaked around the holes for the fuel hoses. Also, just in case someone else out there is still rockin' an ancient Homelite UT08106 leaf blower, this tank fit mine perfectly, even though it wasn't listed in the description. :-) IIRC, I bought mine in 1999.
