What I like about this tool over my old one is it accommodates bigger eggs; holds them in place better. Plus, this slicer has a second style of slicer built in. For me it makes making egg salad sandwiches SO easy. Not to mention how easy it is to clean and the minimal mess it creates.

To slice hard boiled eggs. Very sturdy.

Cutter works great and is easy for any husband to use.Only complaint is that water and egg bits get stuck around the edges of the cutter making it hard to clean and dry.I usually just throw mine in the dishwasher and then put it out to dry (flipping it a few times) on our drying rack.

First, I'm impressed with the sturdiness and compactness of this egg slicer! The cutter parts are metal and the base is plastic, but substantial and rugged. The chrome looks nice (but is a bit hard to keep looking clean). It's real compact and takes up much less vertical space than my old slicer that I broke.My only complaint is the sleek design makes it a bit difficult to separate the two slicers. You have to get a grip with the tips of your fingers in the space between them, which is only about 1/8 inch. Not a big deal for me, but if you're older or have arthritis, you might want a different one.I'm totally happy with it but thought I should mention the small shortcoming in the design.

Here again, a lot of reviews on this were bad, so I was a little hesitant to buy it. But upon receiving it and using it to slice boiled eggs it works fine. I could see that if you try slicing a really really hard-boiled egg you might have some problem, because the cutting is accomplished with stainless steel wires, not blades. And the wire isn't really, really thin because thin wires would break more easily. So, a really hard-boiled egg that is forcefully attempted to be sliced could/will possibly end up breaking loose the stainless steel wires. This is one of those things you have to use some common sense with. When you meet a lot of resistance in slicing through a hard, hard-boiled egg, you either go slow and easy or you use a knife.

Outwardly, this unit looks like it's made well due to it's heft and overall design. The truth of the matter as I'm sure will come to light as people post updates to their reviews is the lack of durability in the most important part of the unit, the wires that actually do the cutting. We've used this slicer to cut eggs for around a dozen or so eggs and already the wires are coming loose. This causes part of the egg to get crushed/sliced into uneven pieces, in other words, it is now useless unless your planning on making egg salad with the crushed bits. This is an excellent example of overseas manufacturing make an item just "good enough" (loosely translated as "Cha bu duo") so that it is marketable and may or may not last. This is why I try my best not to buy overseas items such as this. Unfortunately, we got burned on this one, which just strengthens my resolve to stay away from the mass marketed items put out by overseas companies that sound like they chose their company name from some kind of "Name of the day" software.

Makes slicing hard boiled egg easier if you could imagine that, this is the 2nd slicer i have owned in 20 yrs..only this one has better slicing options..a must buy.

It nice and sturdy and does well with mushrooms too.

Finalmente un taglia uova solido ed efficiente. Corpo solido (non di plastica poco resistente o deformabile). Vale il suo prezzo. Mia moglie lo ha molto apprezzato.

Quite happy with this, only down side for me is we use very large eggs and it’s a bit tight as I slice one way then turn the egg so the slices become diced, it’s a bit tight as the shape is oval one way only. This makes is a bit messy but not really a problem as it’s all getting mixed up anyway. Seems very sturdy but a bit fiddly to wash. Overall the plan was for it to last longer than the plastic ones and I do think it will.
