Very Thick, Good Size Very Happy Woth These Stones

These salt stones are very good, with the exception of one or two of them having internal cracks. They will eventually break, but I’ll replace them at that time. They were packaged very well (each stone wrapped in plastic and in its own small box, like a bar of soap). I’ve already sanded and seasoned the stones with jojoba oil, and I’ll be using them for the first time today at work (I’m a licensed massage therapist, and Himalayan salt stone massage is one I’d my services).To the people complaining about these stones disintegrating, please apply the filter of common sense here. These are SALT stones, and you cannot clean them with water, as you would with basalt hot stones. Salt stones need to be cleaned with a misting of Decon 30 and wiped dry. Also, to the people complaining about getting scratches and skin irritation from the stones, these stones have to be maintained (sanded/smoothed) regularly because they do microscopically degrade, even with proper usage. I did this immediately after unpacking them. These stones, with proper care, will last for years.

These are great stones for the price. I could tell from the box one had been exposed to moisture, yet the others were fine. They were different oval cuts but that variety is fine for my use. Like all things natural (including us!) they have various coloring, veining and imperfections which give them character.The seller needs to include instructions for prepping the stones, as you don’t use them right out of the package. Salt stones need to be sanded with a medium grit sandpaper and rubbed lightly with some coconut oil (or similar one-source oil), then rubbed dry. Moisture/water disintegrates salt, so thy have to be cleaned with Decon30 (thyme oil) and rubbed dry. Salt is naturally anti-microbial.And don’t use lotion or gel on them! Use only oil to keep them from getting clogged up. Enjoy!
