These plates are used to detect the most common yeast and bacterial species that may contaminate your brew. Both quadrants consist of Lee's Multi-Differential Agar (LMDA), which detects bacteria and yeast contamination. •Quadrant 1 contains an antibiotic, Chloramphenicol, which prevents the growth of bacteria and selects for the growth of yeast. •Quadrant 2 contains an antifungal, Cycloheximide, which prevents the growth of yeast and selects for the growth of bacteria. If the test is positive, you can send the plate to our lab for microbial identification. Purchase includes 1 FREE microbial identification performed at Brew Plate Labs.
