The idea was to use this at the baby shower. I bought nontoxic paints and the guests all wrote little messages to the baby, or decorated it. I wondered if people would even want to do it, but they had a great creative time! It also gave the mommy and daddy a reminder of those that came to the baby shower. These are good quality blocks, smooth and perfect for little hands. I'm a sucker for anything with a container to put them in for storage.

We ordered these blocks for our 3 yr. old granddaughter for Christmas. The blocks, themselves, are as advertised as far as smoothness, solid wood and a nice size/weight for little hands. However, whether it was Amazon's horrible packaging or the suppliers, ToysnGamesEtc., the cardboard container for the blocks was missing the lid and the sides of the pail were crushed. I counted the blocks to make sure they were all there and did find 42 of them, however, not in the shapes shown on the pail. You can NOT make the 42 piece castle shown on the pail, nor in the instruction booklet inside the container. It is missing the thin square shaped blocks, along with the gum drop shapes. While this may be a small thing to the supplier, when children see instructions to make something and the items are missing, it is very frustrating and disappointing. Think LEGOS without all the parts!

I bought these when the family was coming to visit. We had 6, 4 and 18 month old boys and they all had more fun with these blocks. I like the fact that they are solid wood and easy to work with. We planned on keeping them here for future visits, but off they went with the boys, back to their home. Great gift with a wide age range.

Purchased for a craft project for all the kids at a baby shower. The kids drew pictures and wrote little notes on the blocks for when the baby is old enough to play with them. The blocks where a little smaller then what i was expecting but i wasn't disappointed.

I was expecting the blocks to come in a larger case. For some reason, 42 sounded like a lot of blocks! This is actually a small tub of blocks but they are well worth the money. I got them on sale for under ten dollars and stand by it being a good purchase even if they are small. In the end, that may be a good thing as I have a 2 year old and I'm sure 42 small blocks will end up in as many places as 42 larger ones.

I got these blocks for my six-year-old grandson to play with. We have a bunch of oblong wooden blocks that we already build many, many things with. He was so excited when he saw the different shapes and sizes of these ones because now we can build serious castles and such. The blocks have a nice, smooth finish and come with a sturdy container with a handle and secure lid, along with a cloth bag to keep them in. I'm sure we'll get hours of fun out of these blocks.

These are nice, quality wood blocks for kids to play with. There is a variety of shapes, and plenty to build small structures. No complaints.

I am pretty happy with these blocks, except I realized after I ordered them that this same company sells 100piece block sets for just a few dollars more.

Not nearly as big as I expected. There are no cones and only two archway pieces. I ordered 2 buckets worth of bricks. Both sets of bricks fit into just one bucket for storage now.I ordered them for creative free play, so I don’t mind that much, that there are no blocks of certain shapes. SEE PHOTO.I presume you need to order the 100 block set to get all of the different shapes to build the castle in the photo.All the blocks, apart from one block that is a bit scruffy on the cut on one side, are smooth and well sealed.Overall I am very happy with my purchase and my daughter will have lots of fun playing and building with these for years to come.I think if I gifted a set to a friend they would also be a bit sad you do not get all the shapes to build the castle in the photo on the bucket.But overall love them :)
