Superb Customer Service
Let me take a moment to give a real review for anyone on the fence about buying this product or similar. After a prior smart lock (not this one) left me locked out my home in the freezing cold having to decide whether it would be cheaper to pay the locksmith quote of $200 or just break the door or one of my windows---I looked around in depth for my next lock, vowing never to be locked out again. This ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Pro lock is where all of the extensive research and reading of reviews led me. I ordered it primarily for a couple of features that were upgrades to my previous lock--first and foremost the USB where you can charge the lock from outside in the event the battery ever runs out while you're outside of the home. Secondly, I really wanted the auto unlock feature through the app/phone as you approach the door. It was easily to install, and for those who've installed locks before, it's the standard quick installation--nothing complicated or unique. While everything worked well and was easy to set up, I initially had an issue with the auto unlock feature not working as anticipated. (which again, was one of the main reasons I purchased this lock). Let me tell you, this company's customer service is through the roof top tier excellent. Unhappy about my feature not working--I vented and made a post in the community forum on their website, not even asking for anything, just venting. Well, they quickly responded and were suddenly emailing me really wanting to help resolve the issue for me. Ultimately, they sent me a replacement part, which did require uninstalling the previous part to install the new part---but I could appreciate that they were being proactive and checking in on me every step of the way. (and again, the installation was so easy in the first place that it wasn't too involved to replace.) Well let me just say, that did the trick and I am now consistently enjoying arriving to the home where the door has already unlocked for my approach. Great product, with a great team behind it. Initially I was going to give 4 stars for having the snafoo and needing to replace the part, but I think superior customer service to resolve an issue for a customer should be worth all 5 stars as well! (Bizzare things happen with all products sometimes, it's how a manufacturer responds that is remembered most)

Favorite Smart Lock
I put these locks on the front and back door of my house and my garage door. I've been very happy with how well the thumbprint reader reacts, the ease of using the numerical buttons and the convenience of seeing the lock status on the app. I've had these longs for 2 years now and they are my favorite smart locks. One did have a piece malfunction and when I reached out to customer service they quickly mailed me a replacement part.

Great product backed by great support
I've bought a number of these over the years and they're always excellent. You can always check on your phone if worried you forgot to lock it, check the status, and lock or unlock to let someone in or keep them out. It works well and best of all if you're more than a quarter mile away or so, when you come home, it unlocks for you automatically. I had one problem with one--- they didn't even ask when I bought it, they just shipped out a new one-- pretty amazing. By way of contract, I used to buy Schlage -- they never answered my emails and I never got a live-body on the phone. My guess is they're just monetizing the brand at this point. There's no contest -- this is the better product and the better company.

Rough Start But Very Pleased Now
I originally bought this lock because of a promotion Ultraloq was having but then found out that, because I was one of the first people to order it, I got it at no cost. I'd been seeing their advertisements for quite awhile and was quite intrigued so I was excited to get it installed. The installation was simple. I have installed door locksets before so I had an advantage there but, seriously, all it takes is a screwdriver. The instructions were thorough and there are videos available on the internet as well. Less than 30 minutes and it was installed. I then installed the app (iOS). Connecting the lock to my Wi-Fi was where things started getting difficult. I know it wasn't a distance issue because I have items further away from my router that connect fine but the Ultraloq would connect, disconnect, rinse and repeat. I also had issues with the automatic locking feature and with getting the firmware to update. I contacted Ultraloq support and ended up working with them for months; and that is not an exaggeration. They ended up sending me two new interior lock assemblies and one whole new lock. One of the interior assemblies was DOA but the other items, while they might have fixed one issue, only induced another. I don't know if it was because this was a new product or if it was something else. But kudos to their tech support for always being available and never giving up on their commitment to make it right. Eventually, I ended up with a working lock and I love it. No more worrying about anyone leaving the door to the house unlocked, no worrying if I have a housekey when I'm outside and no worries about the batteries failing because, worse case, I can use the backup key to get in. (Or I can connect a micro-USB power source and get in.) And it tells you when the batteries are low so no excuse for them to ever fail completely. The battery life has been great. This is the primary door we use to go into the house from the garage and it is opened and closed many times a day. This lock uses four AA batteries and they last well over six months. I wish it had a rechargeable battery pack (for environmental reasons) but, at the most, I need to change them twice a year and that's with very heavy use. I primary use the fingerprint feature to open the lock. So easy! And I also have a backup code I can use if for some reason my fingers are too dirty from working outside to be able to use that. There is also the auto unlock feature (app access) that can be enabled that, if you come near with an enrolled phone, automatically opens the lock. I tried that but it seemed to take just a little too long to register that the phone was near and to open the door. But I'm not known for my patience... I should probably try it again but, honestly, the fingerprint option works great for me.. Oh, and you can set different people up with access using a code, fingerprints (It accepts two for every person so if one is unavailable (dirty, bandaged, etc...) you can use another finger.), and app access or any combination thereof. Lots of options depending on the individuals' needs and preferences. I don't know that I would have bought this at full price because I didn't really "need" it. However, if I had school-age kids or a short-term rental, this would be a great solution that obviates the needs for anyone to keep up with a key. And codes can be added through the app remotely so you don't have to be near the lock to do this. Also, it also keeps a history of opening and closing and who did it (based on their code, fingerprint or device they used). Again, not real important to me but, especially for a short-term rental, this could be almost a necessity. So, again, after a lot of blood, sweat and cursing (to myself), I think I ended up with a pretty solid product. )Occasionally, the lock starts notifying me that it auto-locked when it was already locked. But I just take out the batteries and reinsert them and that gets it back on track.) I was impressed that they sent me, at one point, a whole new lock. Stuff happens but it's how you respond when it does that people remember. And they get high marks for how they handled the problems I encountered.

Frustrating for so many reasons
Update: After posting this review, U-tec reached out to me via email and asked for one more chance to make it right. They actually said they would "do whatever (troubleshoot, replacement, etc) to solve the problem for me ASAP." I researched the locks they have and I knew I wanted a matter certified lock since the connection didn't work with my homey pro. I requested their new lock that has this and UWB. They responded that they're not able to give me this lock. This is the 2nd time I've requested a different lock (a different lock each time) and a 2nd time I was told no. Why did they reach out and commit to making it right if they refuse to do that?? They didn't offer anything else and they only seem to respond by email at like 3am. Their customer service has promised great service but they refuse to even stand behind their product that I've only had 6 months. One of the more disappointing and frustrating experiences I've had in a long time Original review: I've had this lock installed for 6 months. I'm a fairly big smart home enthusiast and have tried connecting this device through an Amazon Echo, SmartThings, and IFTTT. I even have Homey Pro, which connects to virtually everything but I've had no luck getting this lock to consistently work. Installation: Thankfully no issues with installing the lock and for the first month or so I'd say it worked exactly as I expected. Complaints: It started by my door not auto locking. So at random times I would check my front door or leave through the front and the door wasn't locked. This was not a previous issue so I wasn't sure why it broke. I pulled up the app and discovered the lock was no longer connected to Wi-Fi. I have a Gateway Eero Pro 6E router, as well as 2 mesh Wi-Fi extenders plugged in to ensure there are no weak spots or issues with coverage. I have cameras installed further away above my garage and a bird feeder in the middle of my backyard that don't that any issues with a great connection. Despite trying repeatedly for months I've been unable to get the Wi-Fi connection stable. That's means the lock is reliant on Bluetooth. I would try for sometimes an hour or more a day to find work arounds or a different solution. I would hide the 5ghz bandwidth so only 2.4 was visible but it didn't make any difference. I tried removing the lock and re-adding it and no luck. Finally I factory reset it and once I did that the U-tec app couldn't find the lock any longer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, the lock, and other apps to control the lock. At this point I had no ability to control the "smart" lock. I reached out to customer service who insisted I try all the same things I already had. I requested they send me a new lock but they instead offered to send the interior portion of the lock. They promised I'd have it within 5 business days. I received the lock after more than 2 weeks. I installed the new part and the app was successful in finding my lock. Unfortunately it still wouldn't connect to the Wi-Fi I have a long running chain open ticket with customer service. I requested they send me a new lock or a refund. They tried to continue troubleshooting with me, even asking me to disable my WPA3 setting on my router, which reduces the security of my network. I told them no and again this time requested a new Ultraloq model that is matter compliant and is the exact same cost I paid for this lock. I was told no. I asked for a refund so I can look for a better lock elsewhere and was told no. I reasoned with them that if they would give me a solution that works I would stay a customer but otherwise I would have to find a new brand with a better product. They refused again. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they refused to accommodate my request. So now I know no other option than to buy a new smart lock and forfeit the $150 I wasted on Ultraloq, not to mention all the hours and frustration. One thing for certain, I will never buy another product from them again.

UBOLT PRO older model better than newer model
The U-Bolt Pro that has the full green circle light indicator is the BEST model that ULTRALOQ offers. The full green circle gives you an instant indicator that your print was successful and is easily seen in all conditions. The newer model lock that has the small green check mark is a downgrade from the older model. The green check mark can't be seen in bright areas and it's frustrating to use in the daytime. I hope ULTRALOQ keeps the older U-Bolt model that has the full green/red circle around the lock. It's a satisfying action to see the green circle appear and know your print was successful. These are the best smart locks out there and I will continue to use these unless ULTRALOQ changes their locks to the small green check mark. Customers want the big full green/red circle. Make this feature your signature item of your locks and you will stand out from your competitors. I love the hidden key feature of the U-Bolt. The auto lock feature is a great idea but has some issues from time to time where the feature will stop working, but I just reset in app and it starts working again. I use rechargeable lithium batteries and they work well, but I keep and extra set of batteries fully charged on standby to swap out when needed. Takes a little effort to maintain the batteries but benefits of this smart lock definitely outweighs the effort and maintenance of batteries. I can lock/unlock via the app, which is awesome. I absolutely LOVE the biometrics fingerprint method of unlocking. My wife and I prints are stored and SUPER convenient to unlock via fingerprint. I don't want to go back to any other method. Fingerprint is very accurate and super convenient to the user. And this lock also has number keys to use as a backup with an additional hidden key feature. This lock has EVERYTHING you need. I highly recommend this U-Bolt Pro older model that has full green/red circle light over the newer model that has the small green/red check mark light. Please ULTRALOQ go back to using the full circle light. I want to see newer models but with the full circle light.

Great Lock, Even Better Customer Service!
The ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Pro is a fantastic, easy-to-install keyless, remote controlled alternative to a traditional deadbolt. While the motor did fail after 2.5 years of use, I was incredibly impressed by the company's customer service. Despite being outside the warranty period, they went above and beyond to provide a free replacement for the broken part. It is rare to find a company that stands behind their product so well—I highly recommend them!

Works Great!
UPDATE 8-2-2024 After my original review I have to admit that Ultraloq Support has stepped to the plate. Perhaps my original two contacts with them were off days They sent me a replacement lock expeditiously. I think the original one that I brought had Bluetooth problems. Hey sometimes items do come out of the box damaged or with issues. It happens. The replacement one connects both with Bluetooth and WiFi (using the Ultraloq bridge now every time. The support team kept in contact with me via email. I am old fashioned and still would have preferred contact via phone. Welcome to the New World. If you buy a brand new one and start having Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity issues contact their support team and troubleshoot right away. It is most probably a bad Bluetooth chip. Because the difference is night and day from the one that I originally purchased to the replacement they sent ——— This Ultraloq Smart Lock when you read the documentation it is to die for. The problem is that it truly doesn’t live to its documentation. The Outside Box documentation says compatible with Alexa/Google. The inside documentation says you need to purchase the ULTRALOQ Bridge for that to happen. Without the bridge you should be able to connect via Bluetooth. I can be right next to the lock and at times the app just keeps on spinning trying to connect to Bluetooth. The same with my wife’s cell phone. Both cellphones are brand new iPhones. ULTRALOQ support recommendation was to power down the iPhone. Mind you I have about 46 other smart devices throughout the house. I don’t need to reboot my iPhone 50 percent of the time to connect to them like I have to do with ULTRALOQ smart lock. So in my personal opinion ULTRALOQ recommendation is malarkey. Especially when at time I reboot the iPhone and I still have issues connecting to the lock while being adjacent to it. The lock has the latest firmware up to date as per the ULTRALOQ app. Yet, I broke down and brought the WiFi bridge adapter to see if Alexa could lock/unlock by voice or text command. Just to make it easier to ingress and egress the home. That only worked one time. Yet I thank the powers that be that we have kept the regular key with us because we would have been locked out of our home due to smart lock not connecting with either cellphone But let’s give props when they are due. When the smart lock works the way it is supposed to it is stellar. But I really don’t trust a lock that only works 60 percent of the time In summary CONS 1. Bluetooth connectivity is wonky 2. For WiFi connectivity the bridge ( sold separately or as part of the kit) has to be within 10 feet of the lock and the bridge has to have line of sight to the smart lock 3. Customer support is deplorable. When you are locked out of your house you don’t want to wait two hours for an email reply because phone support is non existent 4. Fingerprint recognition is intermittent PROS (When it works) 1. Has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity to your personal cell device 2. Supposedly can hold up to 50 codes for family and friends 3. Can use the ULTRALOQ App, Bluetooth, Alexa/Google, punch in code or manual key to unlock or lock the smart lock. I would recommend buying it but be aware of its idiosyncrasies.

Happy with customer service!
I purchased the ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Pro WiFi in September 2025, and it has been a game-changer for our home. The installation was easy, and the fingerprint ID and auto-unlock features work flawlessly. My child is especially happy that he no longer needs to carry a house key or take off his gloves to unlock the door in -15°C weather! Unfortunately, during a home renovation, our contractors accidentally broke the door sensor. Since I am located in Canada, I was worried about finding a replacement part, but U-tec’s customer service was incredible. I spoke with a very friendly representative who understood the problem immediately. Even though I am outside the US, they went above and beyond to ship the replacement sensor to me. Everything arrived perfectly, the part fit exactly, and our lock is back to working 100%. It’s rare to find a company that supports its customers this well after the sale. Highly recommended both for the quality of the lock and the professional service!

International warranty is misrepresented
I bought this lock, it seemed to work fine for a few months. When it unfortunately stopped working during the warranty period I was told that despite them delivering the original to me in UAE, the warranty only applies if I have an address in the USA. I had no choice but to pay extra money to get them to send me a replacement. I’ve been waiting since July and I still don’t have the lock or any confirmation it has even been sent. So if you are buying this lock for the warranty or customer service then you will be sorely disappointed.

Works. Convenient. Easy to Install
This is a premium product for a not-so-premium price. After doing a lot of research I chose to go with the Ultraloq U-Bolt - the instructions were so easy to follow. It's important to note that I had to do very little modification on my door to get this thing up and running. It is a standard deadbolt lock so you simply have to replace your old mechanical bolt with this bolt. I think it took me 30 minutes. The app was so easy to use and super user-friendly. After installation you're fully functional with fingerprint unlock, code unlocks and Bluetooth unlock. I think the BlueTooth unlock is pretty incredible. I go out for my dog walk every day, several times a day. All I have to do is close the door and it auto-locks behind me, then when I come home, it geo-locates me and automatically opens the door when I get home. I think this sophisticated system can be twice as expensive for the convenience and quality of the product. I highly recommend this product. I'm thinking of Bridge because it's so convenient - but I'm not sure if I need it. Are you still reading this? Buy it already!
