My daughter is mixed race and I got her this as a way to pay homage to her indian heritage and it is such a lovely way for younger children to get involved with their culture or even learn about different ones

Kids love it

As a primary school teacher I am always on a lookout for a good picture book to share with the six and seven year olds that I teach.Let me tell you how much they enjoyed these stories. All the children were enchanted by the beautiful illustrations and the wording of the stories themselves.What made it more special was that it exposed them to tales from a different culture to theirs, which generated a lot of wonderful chats and discussions.I would definitely recommend this book.

What a beautiful book, the illustrations are amazing and really brought the stories to life. Gill's stories leap of the page they are well written and easy for a 3 year old to understand. I have slightly older children who both enjoyed listening to the stories so it works for most primary school agesMost importantly, they are not too long so the children don't get bored, the pictures help keep their attention and I love the morals at the end of each tale.Definitely going on the present list as a gift option

This is a perfect storybookwith amazing illustrations to have in the classroom. Great for English units and class read. I would also use it for the beginning of geography lesson about places and their culture.

This is a beautiful book of short animal stories which would make magical bedtime reading for a younger child. Everything about it is lovely – the stories themselves, the simple and easy-to-understand writing, and especially the fantastic illustrations. It is a complete joy for lovers of children’s books like me. I love the way that the stories are a bit silly and the fact that there is a moral to be learned with each one. Although the book is short I can imagine hours and hours of laughter, learning and discussion coming from it. It’s on my ‘What to get the grandkids list’! This will surely be a winner.

I read this book for my little daughter and these stories are really good for little children. In the end of each story is a moral that teaches kids how to be good people!!!

This book deserves 10 stars, not just 5. There are two standout features. First, the illustrations are simply brilliant. As adults, me and my wife look forward to turning each page while reading to our kids. Second, the text smartly modernizes the text of the stories, while retaining their ancient charms and timeless wisdom.Should sell for twice the price listed.

This book is a great introduction to the Panchatantra. The illustrations are beautiful. My only objection is that the author provided her own takeaway from the story at the end of each story. As a parent, I would rather have a discussion with my child about what they can learn from the story than have the story tell them what they should have learned. However, I still highly recommend the book, and I am very happy that I bought it.

India is rightly known as the land of a thousand colors, and this breathtakingly illustrated book brings to life this description. I grew up with these tales, and oh my goodness, have taken me down nostalgia lane. The 10 stories featured are from the ancient texts of the Panchatantra; India’s answer to Aesop Fables. Kudos to the author Nikita Gill who has updated the language to suit modern day readers, and to Chaaya Prabhat for bringing to life all the characters with rich, gasp-aloud details. It’s a color-saturated fiesta for the senses, which both kids and parents will enjoy. Very highly recommend.

The illustrations are beautiful and the stories are well written with good lessons. I appreciate learning childhood stories from other cultures and traditions as well. I really enjoy reading this with the kids in my family
