Our Menu Parakeet does not contain Orange Oil Extract but it does contain Dehydrated Orange Peel. It really does not give much scent though. Our Vitakraft Vita Smart Parakeet formula does contain the Orange Oil Extract if the Orangey scent is what you are looking for.

Weird question, but is this vegetarian? Does it contain any trace of meat products such as oil or something similar?

No, only seeds, grains, fruits and nut, few pellets and LOTS of vitamins!! My feathered friends love this Vitakraft parakeet food.

Are little flat, round pieces made W artificial colors?

I highlighted the back listing of ingredients and yes it contains blue yellow and red color additives.

Should my birds still have access to a mineral block with this food?

I don't know about "should" but I always keep a mineral block in the cage no matter what I am feeding my birds. I do know that my birds love this food and it's seems quite nutritious.
