Very easy to set up
This sun shade is good. Set up is easy takes about 7 min once you get used with it. We had some strong winds and it was perfectly fine. Is very small once it is in the bag ant that is very important. Fabric is a bit thin but songs the weight of it . So I can recommend it.

Full of features - 4.5 stars
We are regular campers always on the lookout for a new gadget, just when I thought we had seen (and brought) everything this definitely is unique. The shelter is really lightweight, small and portable, there’s no problem lugging this onto the beach. Surprisingly it is huge! It goes up like a normal tent, poles running through a seam in the underneath fabric although I’d recommend 2 people to put it up. The poles are sturdy and bungees seem very strong. It has some very nice features including adjustable height, mesh inside pockets and the best part is that there is no groundsheet so kids can enjoy playing in the sand whilst being sheltered. The fabric is UPF50+ and UV protected, because of the time of year I haven’t been able to test this bit out but I can confirm it is indeed waterproof! The shelter is described as versatile but I’d say this is best suited to the beach as there are sandbags to secure and it comes with a handy shovel. It took us a while to figure out how this could work in a grassy area for camping because the sandbags won’t hold water to weigh it down (trust me - we tried it). We figured we could use the tent stake to make holes in the ground to put the poles in, this works although you would need to be wind free. I did have a thought that this could be used to protect garden plants or vegetables too though. Packing up is stress free, it look me about 2 minutes and there’s plenty of space in the bag with no fighting to get it in. I’ve dropped half a star because I’m not convinced with how versatile this can be unless in the right conditions but I love the item and we will definitely be using it on the beach, in the garden and camping.

Looks good, but will it stand up to the job?...
This shade will no doubt be a welcome place of retreat on the beach, for when the sun gets too much and you need a break.I would say this setup is very a much a compromise between portability, and durability. It needs to be light enough to hoof over your shoulder for the trek to the beach, and strong enough to do the job.The shade certainly passes the first test... it's very light with everything bundled together in the bag.Durability-wise however, I do have some doubts. The material is very thin/lightweight stuff, and I do wonder how it will stand up to wear and tear once any wind picks up.If you've come across those 'emergency raincoats' that roll up to nothing and which you can keep in your pocket... it's very much like that sort of shiny, light material. All the parts (main shade, sandbags, and the carry-case itself) are made from the same stuff, single-ply silver-backed polyester.I can't help but think that you're either going to be pleasantly surprised (if you take the advertised specs as gospel) at how well it stands up to the elements (mainly wind in this case), or bitterly disappointed if the thing comes apart after a few uses. The latter point also comes down to the price of this kit in the first place, which at time of review is £80 all but 10p.I do find the price VERY high for what it is... regardless if it does indeed perform as claimed. At the current price it's only a 3-Star review unfortunately, as it's a lot of money to 'take a chance' on it.

So far, great for light wind and non-sideways rain
It was a bit of a weird time of year to get one of these. We really want one as we have a 3 year old we need to keep safe in the sun, and the smaller toddler tents didn't cut it in Summer.Given it's November, we're pretty much just testing the waterproof aspect! And whether it can cope with wind.First impressions when you open this are that this is really similar to a tent. The two main tent poles which make up the sides (segmented elastic poles) feed through channels on the shade, giving it its' upside-down U shape. You then get cross-section segments to keep the structure in place, so it's fairly straight forward and would take mostly one person to put up although is far easier with two.Because of how it is designed, you can either bend the archways so the tent sits really tall, or you can have it flatter. To secure the sail, you need to bury/dig the ends in the ground, and actually this feels very sturdy when when it's muddy. You then have little bags you can fill with sand to further secure it in place that attach to each leg (not necessarily needed but advised if you're using it for a while). In our garden, it works pretty well. It's a lot bigger than we expected though - far bigger! So it takes up a lot of the space. But we've built it a few times now as a fun activity with our toddler, and provided you keep it close to the ground it's good for keeping rain off as it's definitively waterproof. Sideways rain though, it can't work miracles! There is a slight overhang on each edge of the material which helps though.Feature-wise, it has little mesh pockets on each side that you can stuff light items in which will be fantastic for camping or beach trips, and generally it looks nice aesthetically. It has a good neutral colour and the material is durable and fit for outdoors. In the wind it didn't worry us too much and the material is very solid. But I'm not convinced it wouldn't take off if it was very strong.Definitely recommended as a needed family item for outdoor trips. It withstands most non-severe weather conditions and definitely fits my partner, me and my toddler under - and our middle sized dog! Plus thankfully due to the design it's easy to take apart, fold up and get the poles tidy.We can't wait to use it in the Summer and will update our reviews should any quality issues arise. Great item for cooler camping though.
