Will this spray upside down?

No but it does spray at 'acute' angles...

Why can I not see the critical reviews?

I don't know why you can't see critical reviews, but this is the best hand sprayer I have come across, by far.

Will this last if being used to spray paraffin?

It works well but only use it in the greenhouse
