I bought this mini meter and can't use it. The lancets I was sent are 30G and are too big. They won't fit into the machine. Can anyone help me?

Can you purchase a USB lead for the meter?

Yes. I was lucky as had a load of different sized leads hanging around, one of which fitted. You can buy one from the company but you should be able to pick one up elsewhere quite cheaply.

Why would a person need control solution please?

The solution contains a set amount of glucose that reacts with test strips to prompt a readout in the glucose meter. The reading should match a specific range listed on the test strips, and if it doesn’t, patients know there could be a problem with the strips or with the reader. Manufacturers recommend that patients use control solution when they suspect a malfunction, and every time a new glucometer or a new pack of test strips is used. I hope this answers your question.
