While I like to look put together and occasionally go all out with hair and make up, I’m really a low maintenance kind of lady. The high cost of products and learning the proper way to use products has always been a turn off for me, so I’ve never had a skincare routine. However dry wrinkled aging skin is a bigger turn off! Now, at age 45 and perimenopause setting in, aging has begun. I decided about 8 months ago it was long past due that I started a skin care routine and try to preserve any healthy youth I have left in my skin. After lots of research I decided to try the brand Ordinary. The main driving point of selecting this brand was cost. After 8 months of trying several items in their product line, here is my take away. Pros Affordability being number one.: Highly budget-friendly, allowing a full, effective, science-backed full skincare routine to be built for under $100 Transparency: Clear, ingredient-focused formulas (e.g., Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5) with no hidden additives. Effectiveness: I definitely see an improvement in my skins texture, hydration, and brightness. Range: Wide variety of products addressing specific concerns, including acne, aging, and hyperpigmentation. Cons Complexity: It is confusing when trying to build a routine; It requires research to understand layering, contraindications, and proper application. Ive been using the line for almost a year and I still feel like I go at it blind and should be doing more or doing things differently. Potential Irritation: High concentrations of active ingredients (e.g., AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution) can lead to skin sensitivity, chemical burns, or damage if used incorrectly. So far I haven’t experienced this but my research shows it’s a strong possibility making it so I have not really explored the entire product line out of fear. Texture Issues: I find the serums to be sticky, and if you do not allow your skin to completely dry in between layering applications the products are prone to pilling (rolling or flaking off the skin). Drying time between layering is several minutes and this is not really convenient. The products I use daily are the face cleanser, the multi-peptide hyaluronic acid, retinol serum and the face cream.

Great foaming cleanser, easy on sensitive skin, but still leaves your face feeling clean it foams up nicely It doesn’t burn if you get it in your eyes and it doesn’t leave a weird residue on your face. It has been my favorite cleanser for about a year now. You can’t beat the price !

I LOVE this face wash!!! It doesn't dry out my skin at all. It is scentless and very lightweight. I have seen a good change in my skin and after surviving the St. Ives era of the early Millennium I need this face wash all the time. It is so easy to use and easy to enjoy. The texture is light and not overwhelming and the price for the ounces is right on. I am obsessed.

I would say it works it keeps my face from getting more spots and bumps been using over a month and my face still haven’t cleared and have a smoooth look

I love this face cleanser. It’s been great for sensitive skin. It doesn’t make your skin pill and it doesn’t have a weird scent. It’s also clear with no artificial coloring. Non greasy and easy to use. Excellent pricing.

Despite the light consistency, it still removes foundation, sunscreen, and mascara residue effectively. I have not tried it on waterproof mascara. I also appreciate that it’s truly fragrance-free, which is rare even in products marketed for sensitive skin. It feels simple, balanced, and dependable — exactly what I want from a daily cleanser. If you like minimal, non-irritating skincare that performs quietly but well, this is a great choice. Gentle enough for morning and night, and it leaves skin soft, clean, and comfortable.

It does a good job of cleaning the skin and leaves it feeling fresh without that tight, stripped feeling you sometimes get with other cleansers. It’s quite a gentle formula, which is great if you have sensitive skin, and it removes everyday dirt and oil effectively while still keeping your skin comfortable. (Boots) However, I did find the texture a bit more runny than expected, and it doesn’t foam as much as I thought it would for a “foaming” cleanser. You also need to use a bit more product to get a proper cleanse, which means it might not last as long as you’d hope. Overall, it’s a good gentle cleanser that works well for everyday use, but the consistency and low foam might not suit everyone.

Pero me resecaban la piel.. Cara de cartón! 🫩 Leí bastantes comentarios de él y al ser habitual de The ordinary.. No lo dudé!.. Y no me arrepiento!! Verdaderamente con muy poca cantidad hace una espuma muy suave y te deja la piel.. Realmente limpia, suave y con un color imposible de mejorar! Tiene una calidad de 10.. El precio es competitivo.. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit diesem Cleanser. Er ist sehr mild, schäumt nicht zu stark und reinigt ohne die Haut auszutrocknen oder zu irritieren. Er ist eine tolle Ergänzung meiner Pflegeroutine die ich mittlerweile komplett auf die Produkte von The Ordinary umgestellt habe.

My favourite affordable face wash. It keeps my skin feeling fresh and clean without stripping it. It’s a great price and foams well with a small amount making it last even longer. I have usually oily skill and it works well.
