The item pictures and description are exactly as listed in the item description. I purchased this because my son and I fish a lot and using a "sabiki" type of rig to catch baitfish was getting old. The item arrived in a little storage bag, with a little spool of monofilament and a plastic "needle" type of tool in case the net needed to be repaired. Also included was a little instruction manual on how to use this cast net. This is not your typical type of cast net, but rather has an aluminum circular ring at the top that helps the net spread open evenly. I had watched a few videos of this in use before I decided to purchase it. I purchased the 3/8 size because I can use even the smallest of baits to catch fish and wasn't concerned if small bait got caught in the holes. The weights were encased in white plastic and they felt durable. The mesh was thin, but durable monofilament line and I wasn't too concerned about that because we were not planning to use it around rocks, but rather off a pier and not letting the cast net go all the way to the bottom before retrieval. My son has never used a cast net before and did a simple practice cast in the backyard. To my surprise, he had it mastered by the 2nd throw of the net! The big moment came when we actually went fishing and he cast it off the pier we were fishing on. The first cast opened up perfectly, waited a few seconds before retrieving the net and to our surprise it was filled with greenbacks! Definitely got it over the right spot because we had more than enough greenbacks to use for the both of us that there was no need to cast it again until we moved to another location and released what was left in the aerated bucket back into the sea. It did take me a few tries to get it right because I wasn't used to holding a round piece of aluminum, but I figured out the trick and that is to release it like you are throwing a frisbee. It helps to cast it out with some power in the throw to allow momentum to help swing out the weights. We have used this numerous times on over 3 weekends and there has not been any breakage of the mesh net. Just be sure to wash this off very well with fresh, clean water and let it hang dry before placing it back into the carrying case. I find putting it in a big 5 gallon bucket that's filled with fresh, clean water and then removing it after a minute or two works very well for me. Extremely pleased with this purchase and higly recommended for it's ease of use. The only thing that did not come with the net was instructions on how to repair the net using the provided line and tool. Thankfully, nothing damaged yet, so I will cross that bridge if and when the time comes.
