Works amazing for polishing gems. I ordered one with a low price, and wasn't disappointed with the quality. I saw some say it could come warped, but mine came to me well cared for and in perfect condition. I use it by adding cerium or diamond compounds to polish gemstones. It may not be the best for cutting and grinding, but it does it's intended purpose perfectly.

I bought three, one was unusably warped, one was warped enough that it's only good for coarse grit, and one I haven't tested yet but visually appears flat against a master lap. These come sandwiched between cardboard, taped in place on the sides. Surface finish is okay but not spectacular, and the edges usually have burrs. I think they're stamped which explains why some have a conical warp pattern to them. It's not worth it imo, just spend the extra money on a quality machined Zinc lap. Other than that, I did try scoring one and it does score well and holds diamond pretty well. Zinc (or Tin if you can afford it) is still better. They're $15 and when does anything cheap in lapidary ever work out as you hope it will?

I was finally able to get a nice polish on some ruby I've been trying to polish with the help of some 50,000 grit diamond paste.

I made two separate orders. First was delivered and I'm happy with it Second was not delivered, despite a delivery notification. I indicated "not delivered" ind the Amazon review request but have not heard from them.

Couldn’t ask for better. Shipped sandwiched between layers of cardboard and plastic to keep it from bending. Pretty much perfectly flat and, perfectly centred. Barely even any surface oxidation. Glad I spent the little bit extra compared to others.
